Speaker 1Is this for real?
Speaker 2It's none other than. Carney, wilson of Wilson.
Speaker 3Phillips Okay, so it's not real.
Speaker 2Well, it's not a verified account, so I feel, like it's another TikTok Carney instead of TikTok.
Speaker 1Susan, yeah, but I think that the verified on the TikTok and sometimes on Instagram. Some people do it some people don't.
Speaker 3Oh, so you're giving the benefit of the doubt. Karni is like I'm not spending the dollars. I'm holding on for one more day.
Speaker 2Hold on for one more day.
Speaker 3Oh that's clever.
Speaker 2Yeah Well, she has been messaging us like crazy and I'm not sure the real Karni has that kind of time. She's building in that kitchen. Yeah, she just finished a big kitchen remodel oh, she did, she did yeah was it on like a homemaker no, no, oh, jesus Christ here, we go again. Well, if you follow her on Instagram, she's always showing videos because she used this all-female construction company.
Speaker 1Girl Flip.
Speaker 2Girl Flip.
Speaker 1Yeah, I'm sure that many of them are just Uncle Cathy's there.
Speaker 3Were their hats backwards and wearing a low pony.
Speaker 2No, they were cute and dressed nicely.
Speaker 3I mean, if you see a backward hat with a little pony. They're remodeling a home.
Speaker 1Uncle Kathy, I learned.
Speaker 3I don't want to put people in a category. But chances Did you just snort A little tiny snort I apologize.
Speaker 2Well, not necessarily lesbian, but Charlie Sheen's been out in the world with his new memoir and documentary on Netflix, not necessarily lesbian, I would say.
Speaker 3I would say correct, I would say correct.
Speaker 2Well, he's had a gay sex confession in the memoir and documentary. Yes, correct.
Speaker 1So it's lesbian and Jason.
Speaker 2Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 1I'm okay with that.
Speaker 2Yeah, apparently I haven't watched the documentary yet. I haven't, but it's all over the news that he confesses that when he was doing crack cocaine in his words he turned the menu over and started having sex with men. Does it turn?
Speaker 3the men paws you over, or is it turn the menu over?
Speaker 2I maybe watched the documentary to find out.
Charlie Sheen's Recent Confessions
Speaker 1I wonder how Denise Richard feels about it.
Speaker 3I think she might have already known. She's like any press is good press. Give me back on the real house.
Speaker 1I want her back too, which again in the new season she has some appearances.
Speaker 3Oh, she does.
Speaker 1Well, I love that. They've spotted her.
Speaker 2Well, she's going through this crazy divorce.
Speaker 3Divorce yeah, another one.
Speaker 2Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3This is why I don't get married. Divorce Well, well, all right. Well, that was a long. Can you do that long, long button? I don't know.
Speaker 2I think there might be other reasons why you're not getting married.
Speaker 3What would you think those would be? You are single.
Speaker 2You need a Correct, you need a man to marry.
Speaker 3Oh wow, Low-key shade Go.
Speaker 2How is that shade? I'm just saying you're single.
Speaker 3Well, you're like you can't get married because you don't have a man.
Speaker 2Well you're single, right I can't get married either. Yeah, I would say that when I was single, I'm like, I'm not like moments away from a marriage because there's no man in my life all right, what else we got?
Speaker 3let's keep it moving. I'm sure that this documentary, or it's going to be crazy oh yeah, I mean, clearly we love a good doc, a salacious well, he's been so salacious doc yeah, he's been sober for eight years.
Speaker 2He also discusseses a lot about his HIV diagnosis and how he tried to hide it, but people would come to his house and take pictures of his medication just to blackmail him.
Speaker 3That's insane.
Speaker 2Yeah, and he paid people off initially and then finally he's like just screw it and he came clean. But that was back in 2015.
Speaker 1These are just like friends coming over. Oh he With Benz.
Speaker 2These were, I think, maybe drug friends or people taking advantage of him. If you're.
Speaker 3Charlie Sheen, how are you like? I don't expect you to answer this Call this rhetorical.
Speaker 1But how do you get up? She was ready to answer, I know.
Speaker 3Well, she always says, even before I'm ready to finish, you get so close that you're up there on his porch taking pics of his meds Like right, oh, no, she didn't miss a beat.
Speaker 2No, these were people in his home like he invited to his home. They weren't on a porch taking pictures in. They were like hookup girls or friends or boys or friends doing drugs or all right, just in in california you always have those celebrity hanger on so like, oh right, the pseudo friends?
Speaker 1yeah, exactly, maybe a few gay for pays what?
Speaker 2probably, yeah, probably, right. Well, I think, jj, you have some other interesting news from Wild Chips.
Speaker 1We did review Wild Chips, probably a couple episodes back. Maddie brought those here and I'm not sure if they've listened to the episode yet, but they just said that we're fire, so I'll take it Multiple fire signs on Instagram about us instagram.
Speaker 3so here's my guess you've got a wild intern like that's like your job, your job your job is anytime we're mentioned you go hot it, comment, do something. And like they didn't listen. Because if they did, like those wild chips, they did not, they went into the trash and I don't know we've mentioned them again. So let's, we can tag them again, let's see what happens.
Speaker 2Let's get those fires back. I mean I'll take a fire, I will too.
Speaker 3I mean, these are protein chicken bone broth. Because you caught me, I listened back they were awful.
Stan Documentary and Eminem's Legacy
Speaker 2They were not good Whatever they were. But I was on my way here today. I drove down 8 Mile as a little ode to Eminem because I watched the Stans documentary so powerful.
Speaker 3So is this like you're making this connection, or did actual construction push you? Onto eight mile.
Speaker 1Okay, I was gonna say like don't you take it, because I'm like I've done the trip as well, and I'm forced on eight mile now there's another option better, I'm willing to go with it.
Speaker 2There's another route I could have taken, but I chose the eight mile route because you were feeling.
Speaker 3You were feeling the topic, what we're talking about today. Yeah, exactly, and I saw a little, let's like let's dive in.
Speaker 2I saw a little group of kids walking down one of the side streets and I was like, oh, that's like eminem and proof back in the that thought really, you are fabricating it.
Speaker 3No, 100%. You thought oh, that's proof. In little Eminem.
Speaker 2No, it was like them. They could be the next proof in Eminem. Who knows, anything can happen on 8 Mile, do you want?
Speaker 3my phone number so you can give a comment on that, not my personal phone number, but the podcast phone number 313-444-9004. Correct.
Speaker 2Got it, nailed it.
Speaker 3Okay, all right, I think we're transitioning into Stan.
Speaker 2Yes, stan or Stans, it's Stan.
Speaker 3Stan Stans, I wash it and I have a lot of pens. Okay, well, what's your?
Speaker 1opinion. Let's start with it, yeah.
Speaker 3Well, there's a lot of chatter online about it, like did it waver too much on his fans or not enough on him? I don't know. I found it fascinating and I'm going to just say this. So, stan's, I'm sure a lot of people know and maybe a lot of people don't just generally generationally, but this term originated from the 2000 track called stand that also featured dido great and it is a good song I mean, it's incredible song and it's about an obsessive fan that just the lines got blurred between reality and you like fandom and all of that.
Speaker 3And but now fast forward to today. It's a term. The term Stan or stands is a broadly used term for like I'm a huge fan and some people embrace it, some people don't. So some people consider it like yeah, I'm going to stand on that pedestal, I'm going to call myself a Stan, and others are like well, if I correlate that term to that music and that video, like to that music and that video, like, no, that's not me, I'm not that crazy. But and today, now, what I love about it is that it's being used. It can be used as a noun or a verb.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3So I am a big fan of Alanis Marsa yes, you are and I wouldn't like. Here's the thing I've never been a person that has been obsessed about much of anything, like celebrity actors, anything. I think the closest thing I'm obsessive about is true crime, like just something that I can't get enough of, but like let's just use a lot of Smorza as an example. I can say either I'm an Alanis Morissette stan or, which is a noun, or as a verb, I stan Alanis Morissette.
Speaker 1Oh, I like that so. I stan Alanis Morissette Especially for me having English as my second language, the way that you're putting it there, my brain appreciates that.
Speaker 3Yeah, yeah, 100%. So give me your stan. What is your stand?
Speaker 1my stand, I would say, is all things bravo.
Speaker 3Mainly andy corn. That makes, that makes sense. He is my zaddy and everything that he promotes it.
Speaker 1I will watch it. You know more than anybody else, matt, that Megan and I we follow many of the Bravo celebrities and if there is a pot in.
Speaker 3Ohio or any place around us. I was just going to say if they get into Cincinnati or Columbus.
Speaker 1Or Cleveland, or Cleveland Any of the Ohio's three C's?
Speaker 3Yeah, cincinnati, columbus, oh, cleveland, any of the Ohio's three C's.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 3Is it these? Cincinnati, columbus or Cleveland, cleveland? Jesus Christ, I'm like the Bravo Leopardies love it.
Speaker 1Yeah, we find places. There's not much happening in Detroit with the Bravo Leopardies, which, again, this is a call out for you, bravo Leopardies, you should come to Detroit more.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1Claussen is a c come to us, but we, I, I, I love all things. Bravo, I cannot get enough what about you, megan?
Speaker 2well, for me it's easy.
Speaker 3It's uh, michael jackson, it's oh yeah I still am okay obsessed with penny loafers. This is why you got like trendsetter?
Speaker 2yeah, because I. Yeah, exactly, I still love a white sock and a penny loafer. I'm obsessed borderline with penny loafers.
Speaker 3I keep buying them in different colors stan penny loaf.
Speaker 2Well, no, it's all michael, because you can be a.
Speaker 3It doesn't have to all, because there are a lot of people out there that are self-proclaimed Trader Joe's stans.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah. But I think that what Megan is trying to say is pretty much just the same thing that the stans were talking about with Eminem. Even the white shirt, yeah, they will wear it because I mean, even like bleaching their hair, yes, so I kind of like, on the last couple of years I've been doing like the Eminem, like bleach blonde. I always have loved that.
Speaker 2Look, I still think Eminem was the cutest with his bleach blonde. Oh, really, oh, I've always been attracted to Eminem. I'm always hoping.
Speaker 3I'm going to run into him around town. This is a bombshell.
Speaker 1Well the problem is.
Speaker 2he's at the very bottom of my height level and I think he's probably too short for me.
Speaker 3He is at the very top of my height level and I think he's probably too short for me. He is at the very top of my height level. Five, eight, oh well, five eight is I'm that's my sweet spot, that's his published height.
Speaker 2I kind of wonder if he's a little shorter.
Speaker 1We'll see I'd like to. Maybe he's got the new.
Speaker 3The new um heels that people that men put in a A kitten heel, no, the shoes.
Speaker 2They have hidden lifts in them.
Speaker 3Jack's tailor had it on the reunion. How are they hidden?
Speaker 1if I see them, you could put it like a sole inside the shoe Like a Dr Schultz.
Speaker 2Yeah, there's like what is it the Veja?
Speaker 3brand of tennis shoes has a special height lifter one and Jack'slor on the valley this is not in her notes, so the fact that she can rattle these off because I know okay, and people are buying these shoes online like crazy.
Speaker 2Okay, put it. Can you put that in our link?
Speaker 3your our link tree. Yes, I will.
Speaker 2Can I ask?
Speaker 3you do, you guys know a fit, like you know when, like this whole thing was coined, like the first official, I guess, or like, if you look in the history books of the internet, who the first Stan was, from a point of view where it crossed the line between like fan and obsessive fan, stalker fan yeah, I'm not, I'm not sure you know, I'm gonna look at my notes wasn't it you're?
Speaker 2I guess I don't really understand the question you don't no, okay.
Speaker 1Well, is it like elvis presley, like with their fans?
Speaker 2no, no, no, no, he's still talking, eminem, right no, I am.
Speaker 3Oh, you are I didn't transition to elvis presley. Did I miss? Well I thought you?
Speaker 1I thought your question was about like who was the first one? That here's the thing, let me.
Speaker 3Let me give another frame. So stan's yes has become more broad in terms of like being okay with it, but it originally was obsessive fans based on his song and his video and that guy like drove off a bridge and killed himself and was like got crazy. So the first stand like from that perspective is Mark David Chapman, do you? Know who that is yes, yes, he's the one that killed.
Speaker 2John Lennon yeah, wow.
Speaker 3So, uh, he essentially is the first stand. He was obsessed with him, he stalked him, he got his autograph during the day and then, like hours later in the evening, when him and yoko were returning from dinner, shot him five times and killed him. Wow, and so it's like he is the original stan. I don't know if that's. I don't know. It is just a piece of education, because we are what an educational pod well for education.
Speaker 2I will say I didn't realize that eminem had worked at this like restaurant bar in st claire shores called gilbert's and now gilbert's lodge, I think, and now I'm kind of like we need to go there for a little outing.
Speaker 3I'll Gilbert it.
Speaker 2Yeah, we have friends in St Clair Shores so we can have a little meet up.
Speaker 3I don't want to give away where I live Right, because the fans are crazy.
Speaker 2I think you already have given it away.
Speaker 3But I mean like I'm literally a half mile off of eight mile. Yeah, have I said that before?
Speaker 2Well, you've said you were a block or two from Valentine Vodka, so that kind of gives away your location.
Speaker 3If you're a sleuth, you're narrowing it down. Yeah, coworkers come into town that I've entertained and asked me to pull over in front of a street sign to get their picture of eight mile, which is which is something I probably would also do if I was in another city and like it's just funny to me, right? Yeah, it's just weird, cause, like and that's part of what I loved about that documentary and probably why a lot of us the three of us attached to it yeah, it's because we could. I mean, like there was footage of him driving down. I'm like, oh, I know, I know that shot.
Speaker 3You can blur it all you want. I know that.
Speaker 1Yeah, sub shop yeah, I know that, kroger, when I see it. Yeah, yeah, it was. It was nice to see that differently and I think that there is a that it's a component of like when you see a documentary like that, that you can see the streets that you kind of relate to, like you just feel that the story makes a little bit more sense home on.
Speaker 3Yeah, probably. Yes, that's more nine.
Favorite Swear Words Discussion
Speaker 2Well, I do wish it looks like they filmed it in detroit on kind of like winter or fall, like it was a very gray day. So all the scenes of detroit I felt like didn't look that pretty and nice. So I was like couldn't they have done it on a nice sunny day?
Speaker 3everything would have looked a little better I feel like, though that's kind of in line with eminem's brand, I guess, like he doesn't seem sunny and nice, he just seems more like conflicted and like I don't know like they're tortured poet.
Speaker 2Yeah, thank you, I was gonna say internal struggle.
Speaker 3But tortured poet nailed it thank you, taylor Swift.
Speaker 1Oh, and to that point, that is like that is one of the things that I kind of I wouldn't say, but I was like kind of fighting in my mind when he was going into like the you know, the fandom of the, you know going into him being a rapper and being an artist, and he said I'd never sign up for this. I mean, in a way I was like, yes, you did sign up for, you know, to be a public figure. I do understand that he did not sign up for some of the repercussions of like being that so, so, so famous like especially when that you know, you know stardom affected like the family, his daughter especially that you know you can see His mom's spaghetti His mom's spaghetti was there.
Speaker 3I think that was a positive, which is could be a slip it in. His mom's spaghetti was very, very good.
Speaker 2I think that was a positive which could be a slip it in his mom's spaghetti. Oh so good. Oh my God, if you're coming to Detroit you have to get mom's spaghetti. 3 pm it opens.
Speaker 3Sometimes I'm like I've picked it up as takeout, but I'm like does that mean I have to stay at the office until 3? Because I like to skip out around 2. The office until three, cause I like to skip out around two not skip out and stop working, but skip out and finish my day at home. But like mom, mom's spaghetti.
Speaker 1It's so good, so good, it's so good.
Speaker 3I love it.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 3What else do we so fan fiction did you get the through line for that?
Speaker 1You were telling us a little bit about that. Listen, I don't think I have it all.
Speaker 3I don't think I have it all either, and I am very always excited about learning something new that I didn't know was like out there and I'm like how did I not know there was this whole world out there around?
Speaker 2fanfic is what they call it, Fanfic for fan fixture which is, which is just people writing stories that they put up on the internet about themselves and celebrities.
Speaker 3Well, I don't know if it's always about themselves, but what they take is, a lot of times what they take is an existing story that already is out there, and then they reimagine it and they put celebrities in there, and a lot of times what they do is put nsfw content not, always not always listen, don't come for me.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's erotica kind of not all but not always but a lot of comfort.
Speaker 3come for her, not don't come for me, because a lot of time it's just you. It's an existing story that is reimagined with celebrities and new events. So like, imagine you are a huge fan of Taylor Swift and suddenly you are also not suddenly, but you are a fan of Harry Potter. You are also not suddenly, but you are a fan of Harry Potter. They re-imagine it and Taylor is now in that story and the story is slightly re-imagined. So it I mean AO3, listen, if you are out there and this is your community. I apologize if I'm getting anything wrong cause I'm new about it, but I am learning and I am appreciative of your community. I apologize if I'm getting anything wrong because I'm new about it, but I am learning and I am appreciative of your community. And if you have things to tell us, please feel free. Give us some stuff, because I am just here to spread the word.
Speaker 3But, like these short stories by fans and it's the most popular platform is AO3. It's called Archive of Our Own, ao3. It was launched in 2009. It's a nonprofit, so no one's here to make profit on this. This is just people that are like trying to exhibit their passion in a way where writing, I guess, and creativity merges with fandom, so it's really interesting intersection. There's millions of stories on there, again, a lot of NSFWw content, but not all of it. A lot of there are. In terms of nsfw, the most popular sexual content is around harry potter, bts and harry styles oh wow, those are like last I checked the top three so isn't that?
Speaker 3it's fascinating. Like I'm just going about my day, I had no idea all these people yeah were out there taking everyday stories, headlines, movies, books and then reimagining them and putting their fan, their, their fandom celebs into the narrative yeah, that's crazy.
Speaker 1I've been speaking too much, so you guys one thing that I wanted to just mention that I found very interesting is about the word fuck and how they use it in the documentary oh and yeah, and that was a hard right, it just took a hard right well, I, I think that I you know I want to just lift up some of Probably a left yeah.
Speaker 1Probably a lefty, Sorry, and how like they really just used that little segment of like. Oh, and the word fuck was created in this, you know, in this term and all that thing, and I do like the word fuck.
Speaker 3Do you like the middle finger?
Speaker 1I do like the middle finger. Sometimes, not all the time, it has to be appropriate, I think.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1It has to be a moment for me to get the finger, do you?
Speaker 3remember? Oh my God, do you remember JJ? When we were driving to Grand Rapids.
Speaker 1And I was in the lane.
Speaker 3that was supposed to merge, but it merges immediately after the stoplight.
Speaker 1Like I have, like I've got to go on it. I've got to go on it to get over.
Speaker 3This woman.
Speaker 1Yeah, and gave a finger, Middle fingered me. Wow, I love that Middle finger.
Speaker 3And then she got nervous and backed off, I mean right. Like it's a story for another day.
Speaker 1Yeah, she sure did. But that segment on the documentary made me think JJ sure did.
Speaker 3but that segment on the documentary made me think jj, what is your favorite swear?
Speaker 1like curse word, did it? Because I think you already know I was. It was brewing in my brain a little bit and then I realized although I don't use it often, one of my favorite, if not my favorite um swear word is motherfucker. Oh, I think that it's a. It's a word that you could use in every single moment, like if you're angry, you like you, motherfucker, but if you're excited, it's like yeah, motherfucker you know I like that, I like to shorten it to mofa. You probably call those a mofo I do sometimes.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1What is, maddie, your favorite?
Speaker 3well, can I comment first on your motherfucker, because I feel like I do like to use it in a lot of like motherfucker, where you been, you funny motherfucker yeah, don't you feel that I just like I'll mf it all day and I can use it Happy, sad, indifferent.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3My favorite oh God Swear word is oh Jesus, I don't know, it's probably like um batshit.
Speaker 1Batshit. I don't know if that's one of my favorites.
Speaker 3Like that girl be batshit crazy.
Speaker 1I've never heard you say that.
Speaker 3I agree.
Speaker 2I'm thinking the same thing, like wow, this is your favorite swear word and I've literally never heard it. Then what?
Speaker 3have you heard me say?
Speaker 1Fuck maybe.
Speaker 3Well, these are words I'm saying to you two because you're annoying me, but my favorite is batshit.
Speaker 1Batshit. Okay, what's yours, Megan?
Speaker 2I think I'd just go to a standard old fuck.
Speaker 3Yes, well, I thought you were going to put your money on mofo.
Speaker 2Well, mofo is not mofo. Is swearing without swearing.
Speaker 3Can I say this to the audience?
Speaker 2Without using a swear word.
Speaker 3I would say she's not this way anymore. But there was a period of time where all she would drive were Volkswagen bugs that were convertibles, and yes or no, yes or no, yes or no.
Speaker 2Okay, I had a convertible. That was a bug. You act like I was only driving around in a bug. You act like I was all jumping around in a bug.
Speaker 3She would enjoy putting the top down and putting on lyrics of songs like 2 Live Crew.
Speaker 2It was milkshake.
Fanfic and Larry Stylinson Explained
Speaker 3No, it was milkshake the fuck. Word was being blasted like high volume. As we're going through Pleasant Ridge, which is a community between Royal Oak and ferndale, and I'd be like megan, I feel very uncomfortable. She's like no it's an amendment I can play this as loud as I want and I'm like there's children and she's like fuck them it wasn't that loud and that wasn't exactly how it went, but well, that's I was playing explicit versions of certain pop songs.
Speaker 2Do you guys want?
Speaker 3me to Not to live crew. Do you guys want me to get into Larry Stilson?
Speaker 1Go for it. We only have a few more minutes, but yeah.
Speaker 3Okay, this is where fandom and fanfic collide, larry Stilson, I'll pause while you Google it. Pause, pause. This is Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson Tomlinson, tomlinson. These are One Direction band members. Everybody was speculating that the two of them were so close in public and I guess they got some matching tattoos and everyone thought that they were in a relationship. So these people propagated is that the right word? Promulgated.
Speaker 2Promulgated.
Speaker 3I've never heard of that. I've never heard of it.
Speaker 3Yeah, I think that's made up, but anyway, they apparently well, not apparently they perpetuated this rumor that the two of them were together. I am looking at my notes. So in 2014 and 15, when they were at their height they were called Larry shippers. So a Larry shipper? Well, let me break it down. A shipper is somebody that is a big proponent of two people being in a relationship together. They could be real people. They could be not real people. They could be largely probably not a couple, but they are like I'm convinced that they are together. So I'm a shipper. So Larry Stilson is a mashup between Louie and Harry, and then they called themselves Larry for Louie and Harry and shippers.
Speaker 3All like a ton of money and then rented planes to fly these flags that say said Larry is real. I did not know that all of this shit was going down during One Direction. Like I wasn't a huge One Direction fan, but like that's a lot right. Like, speaking of, I didn't sign up for this. Like regardless of what you think you're going to get or not. Like do you think you're going to get a plane flying over your neighborhood or your city saying Larry is real, and what the insinuation is is that you are in a sexual and romantic relationship with your band member.
Speaker 1That's kind of goes back to like I didn't, they did not sign up for that.
Speaker 3Which right Like cause you don't is like you're right if you're gonna go down this path and you get successful and and you get famous yeah you know it comes with a price, but like you don't right, but you, you can't imagine the lengths at to which it could go.
Speaker 3Yeah, which is this right? Like this is kind of absurd, and like louis was like begging them to like please stop. Harry just ignored it. I don't know what the the better alternative is, but like it's like. Yeah, like I feel like we are this close to slip it in banners. Yeah, probably Like coming down eight miles.
Speaker 1Yeah, and, as we wrap it up on this, you know Stan's documentary. I feel that we do have to say that. You know, I personally learned the impact that Eminem has on the music history and obviously the impact on the lives of their stands and us, even that we've watched him doing it like one of the things that I you know the impact that he's had even on mental health yeah, after his recovery.
Speaker 1He did a recovery album in 2010 just because of that and and the love that he has for his daughter, so I uh the influence and everything that he's done I think is great, and if you have not watched it yet, you should go and watch it in Paramount Plus stands.
Speaker 3I also loved his Detroit hat and I think JJ.
Speaker 1Did you Google?
Speaker 3that I think. Well, google Lens.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, I think you Did, you do it.
Speaker 3It has the backing that. It doesn't work for me. It works for you, so you should get it.
Speaker 2If not, not, you have a birthday coming up and if I buy it, I'm sure we can all force me to put it on the link tree, but I do want to comment.
Speaker 3Here we go. I can see her computer screen.
Speaker 2I can see her screen. Well, promulgate is a word and it means promote or make widely known. So your correct word was promulgated.
Speaker 3Did I use that word?
Speaker 2No, you said some other word propagated, which I don't believe is a word.
Speaker 3It's promulgate, promulgated is the word you wanted. Again what we are, what An educational pod.
Speaker 1Yes, and we are ready for a product review.
Speaker 3Oh, let's do it we, and this is one.
Speaker 1Today is a very good one it's a saucy one.
Speaker 3It's very. It's a. What it's a saucy?
Speaker 1it's a saucy one, yes uh, it comes from one of our favorites, uh, harry hamlin. Uh, four-time golden globe and one-time prime. Emmy la law, uh-huh. And he's love for spaghetti sauce. Yes, we saw it first on the real houses of beverly hills as he was preparing his uh sauce, still waiting for garcelle's.
Speaker 1Uh, grateful note you know, thank you note about how he received. You know he gave her some, some of the sauce, but I think, um, in the few minutes that we have, I wanted to just, you know, bring in what you know harry has done with this, um, with this sauce, which is has become one of my favorites. Megan actually gave it to me as a present for my birthday and after that I it's I kind of been obsessed with it, to be honest it is borderline obsessive it.
Speaker 1It is. It is very good and one of the things that I love about Harry's Sauce and Harry's company is it's actually one of the first.
Speaker 3I giggle, I giggle.
Speaker 1I giggle. Yeah, we love Harry's Sauce, but they have the first open source food company, which is that they're completely transparent. They say all the ingredients.
Speaker 3And on top of that, on their website, they have the full recipe of the sauce. So if you just want to make it real, yeah, 100 percent, 100. What's the wine they use?
Speaker 1I'm not he just it says like uh, I think a dry red wine yeah okay, so the one that I have right now is a rosemary red wine, but they do have other. They have the lemon pepper and the marinara number seven, which are the new ones.
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 1And the spicy tarragon vodka, which is a very good one. I mean, jeff Lewis, they were there and he was, he was promoting it and they were tasting it and I mean it's's again, it's one of my favorites, I love it so much the traditional one is the rosemary red red wine sauce and it's so good.
Speaker 2I make it as a bolognese and I don't love it.
Speaker 3How do you turn something into a bolognese?
Speaker 1just meat sauce. You add meat meat. Yeah, oh, beef, that's it I actually do my. I add meat and I add um mushrooms and one thing that I've added to that to talk about that, yeah, and how they really encourage people to just get their own twist on their sauce. It's like you. Put a little dollop of alfredo sauce in it and make a blush, creamy rosemary wine sauce on your pasta, you know.
Speaker 2Make it part of your meal prep and I think also the official recipe that harry gives that you're supposed when you make the bolognese is you also add a touch of soy sauce oh, got it, I have tried har Harry's sauce.
Speaker 1Multiple times or just once.
Speaker 3I've had a couple heaping toppings of his sauce and I love it and I have actually tried to find a comparable local sauce there's none you can't, you can't. No, I know I'm like why what's happening? Why can't red wine sauce just be prolific?
Speaker 2well, this is also, I think, rosemary. It's very heavy rosemary, so that also adds to the taste but I love it.
Speaker 3I give it five stars out of five 100, 100.
Speaker 1And one thing that I'm not as happy about is the bundles. Like I wish, I can just order one.
Speaker 3But you're probably going to have to pay for something you got to order in threes. Which is fine, because it's so good, I'll go in. There's three of us right here I'll give you what $7?.
Speaker 1It is $37.47 for the bundle of three. No for three.
Speaker 3Well then, I can give you $11.
Speaker 2three, okay, well then I can give you 11. We're gonna definitely put it on the 25 cents. Yeah, it's on the link.
Speaker 3We also just find it there, the slip it in podcast crew. Just also. We're you know like should we come into a wealth and fortune from lottery tickets?
Speaker 2so oh well, we'll see but I will say harry looks amazing for his age. I mean, he was always a handsome man, but he's 72 and he does not look anywhere near that age. And also his wife, lisa, lisa Renner. I love her. I miss her on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and she also looks great for her age. Yeah.
Speaker 1Okay, that is my review.
Speaker 2Okay, so we went from mom's spaghetti to Harry's sauce. That's true.
Speaker 3Like harry and ma, uh, and eminem's mom should do a clip. She died, yeah well, so that's out okay, sorry yeah, sorry about that.
Speaker 2Well, but now I'm gonna keep it with the tomatoes and for my slip it in. I am obsessed with these tomatoes. They're called dirty girl tomatoes. They are made by dirty girl produce in California. They're dry farm tomatoes and they only come out in late summer. Early fall and they're out. So if you're in, California you can get them. If you're in the Chicago or Detroit areas, you can get them at plum markets and they're amazing.
Speaker 1They're so good.
Speaker 2They're the best tomatoes I've ever had.
Speaker 3Can I comment Like?
Speaker 2I agree with you.
Slip It In and Pull It Out Segment
Speaker 3You gave me a taste of those before and I agree I'm like I didn't think you could change my opinion on tomatoes. You did. Yeah, period.
Speaker 2Well, thank you, thank you, Dirty Girls, for dry farming these amazing tomatoes, and my pull it out is-.
Speaker 3Dirty Girls, Dirty Sheryls.
Speaker 2Yeah, we're all about the dirty here on Slip it In. So my tailor has closed and I haven't been able to find a new one Taylor Swift.
Speaker 3No, my tailor, oh like-.
Speaker 2Like tailoring clothes, repairing clothes, things like that.
Speaker 3Oh, I didn't even know they existed. Yeah, 100%.
Speaker 2Don't you ever get anything tailored.
Speaker 3No, I sure do not. Oh okay, I just buy something new.
Speaker 2Well, but sometimes, like you need pants shortened, you need I'm a 30. Well, shortened, whatever anyway I don't need well, maybe you do anyway, my tailor closed. I haven't found a new one. I've tested out a couple. They were not very good, so now I have this pile of clothes that need to be tailored and nowhere to take them. So I'm struggling. If you are in the detroit area and have a good tailor, message us, let us know I think I have a friend that might oh good.
Speaker 2Good, I need your connection because I had an amazing one, and now I'm in need of one, and yeah, I have a friend that does that all the time oh good yeah, my slip it ins are one of my favorites, introduced by the one and only andy corinne and john John Hill, scandinavian swimmers from Trader. Joe's. I cannot live without them, and once I opened that bag, megan.
Speaker 1I just cannot stop, especially the original ones, which is like a version of, like the Swedish fish yeah, but Swedish fish are nowhere near they're so good, that's my slip it in. I you know I cannot get enough of them. Um, my pull it out, you know, kind of going into. I've said before that I don't like the term poppy, and I've realized too that I'm not really a big fan of the term girl amongst the gays for myself and they're like hey girl to me.
Speaker 2Sometimes they do that and I'm like I just don't work a girl, no, I don't want it. Hey, girl, hey no, yeah, I just don't hey girl hey, you'd like it for a? Man, I kind of like it, yes, I kind of like it.
Speaker 1I just don't know Like I.
Speaker 2Work, yes, I just don't. What about?
Speaker 3the new season of Project Runway, where she's like child.
Speaker 1Oh, really yeah.
Speaker 3I'm all caught up. I feel like that oh you are.
Speaker 1I feel like that's equivalent to girl child Could be, but yeah, the term girl amongst the gays I'm not a big fan of Me. Yeah.
Speaker 3Okay. So my slip it in is that I got on my chat GPT to give me advice about seeding my lawn, but then I saw on the sidebar that I had subscribed to a gpt that was astrology related, true story, true story. So I clicked on it to be like, oh okay, I obviously put that into my menu and they said do you want me to give you a reading based on all your shit? And I'm like sure. And it said what we need is your birthday, the time you were born, which I was born at like one, 25 AM, which is why I'm a night owl.
Speaker 2Yeah, I mean that standard to get readings.
Speaker 3They want your time of birth and the city I was born in.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3And then it produces stuff.
Speaker 3It fucking motherfucking blew my mind yeah, I'm only gonna read the first part of it and then the rest, like I'll share with you guys. On the side it says sun and gemini. So I'm a gem. Your core essence is curious, adaptable and highly mental. You thrive on ideas, communication and variety, with your sun in the fourth house. Home, family and inter-emotional security are central themes in your life. You may be the storyteller or bridge in your family, someone who carries ancestral stories and finds identities and roots, yet you also crave freedom and mental stimulation. I mean to call me a storyteller.
Speaker 3I'm like love it as well. And it goes on and on and nails and nails and nails.
Speaker 2Astrology is pretty amazing.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, okay, we should do an episode about it. I think so.
Speaker 2Well, the birthday book and the relationship and the Etsy witches.
Speaker 1Well, that's a different one.
Speaker 3Okay, my pull it out is Bibles in hotels.
Speaker 1We did not find one in the last, we did not the last time we traveled. Yeah, I do you remember, though, I was opening all the drawers.
Speaker 3I'm like, is there a bible in there? I don't want it. I don't need it. Like it's the days are done. However, I did a research and hilton, maria and radisson still do it, and that's like, why? Like isn't that a specific community that you're appealing to? Like everybody and anybody could stay at your hotel. Like, don't put your Bible in my drawer. No right, like I don't want it, I don't need it. And like the Bible industry, who's profiting? Well, a lot of times I think Off of bulk Bible purchases.
Speaker 2No, but sometimes certain of these religious organizations donate them to the hotels.
Speaker 3Oh, it's a donation.
Speaker 2Sometimes Not as a rule, but that does happen Still. It's appalled and like lots of times, the Mormons would be upset with the Bible, so then they donate the like, whatever they call it, the Book of Mormon, the Book of Mormon.
Speaker 3I know we got to wrap. I know we have to wrap it up.
Speaker 1Yes, we do, let's say this.
Speaker 3Let's say I love the fucking Bible. Let's say I love it. I'm in my room 1030, 11 o'clock, ready to go to sleep. You think I want to open up chapter?
Speaker 117 john. Some people do some people then bring your own bible, pack it and they might be bringing their own bible as well put it in your carry-on because I don't got time.
Speaker 3I don't need to count on a bible being and first. That's why I see your airbnb pulled.
Speaker 2Well, if you look, at those. Bibles in the hotel rooms. They're usually clearly never been opened.
Speaker 1That's true, they're dollar store Bibles Probably Well, they're donations per Megan's suggestion.
Speaker 3Well then, let's just stop the madness.
Speaker 1Let's stop. That's a pull-out for sure.
Speaker 2Get a job for one of the Get a job for one of the get a job for one of the big hotel chains and make that your mission.
Speaker 3Jesus Christ, I can't with you.
Speaker 1Is it time to wrap it.
Speaker 3I think we're leaving it there. Do you have anything left to say?
Speaker 2well, I do. I want to say we want to hear from you, we want to hear your hot topics Slip into our DMs on Instagram or TikTok or Facebook, all of it. You can always email or swing by between eight and nine mile at gmailcom and remember whenever you reach out, don't forget to leave your name and where you are from.
