Welcome And Listener Product Hunt

SPEAKER_00

Slippers unite, it's time to play. We bring a spice to your work or your day, confesses debates and a product or two. We slip it in just for you. You laugh.

SPEAKER_01

Welcome, welcome, welcome, everyone. We are back slipping it in with you. I'm Negan.

SPEAKER_04

Maddie, are you there?

SPEAKER_01

I'm here.

SPEAKER_02

I slipped in. Damn Daddy Maddie is here today. Oh, I see. Damn Daddy Daddy Maddie.

SPEAKER_04

You cannot call me a papy, but I'm JJ right here.

SPEAKER_01

I love everyone. Welcome everyone. And well, we have heard from a slipper, Tina. She sent us a product to look for. And it is a product in Puerto Rico. It's sangria in a Capri Sun pouch.

SPEAKER_04

So I've seen those.

SPEAKER_01

As soon as I heard about it, I was like scouring the city. Like, oh my God, I want to try this. It sounds amazing. Our city. Our city, Detroit. Every year. Because I love Capri Sun and the idea of having a little sangria in a I've never seen you with a Capri Sun. Well, I haven't had one.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I haven't had one in 20 years, but I used to love them back in the day.

SPEAKER_02

All right, fair enough.

SPEAKER_01

So anyway, you know, we have a resident Puerto Rican on the pod.

SPEAKER_02

A resident. Would you call him an aficionado?

SPEAKER_01

I tried to call him an aficionado. I am not. Shut down.

SPEAKER_04

He rejected the Puerto Rican blood in my okay.

SPEAKER_01

I considered you a Spaniard as a Spanish man, but okay, fine.

SPEAKER_04

Oh no, but those are the worst.

SPEAKER_01

They are. Oh, they are. They're bad.

SPEAKER_04

So bad. I mean, they are literally like a capriçan. A Caprian. A Capri-San, like in like in Walgreens. You know, when you see like the little gadgets and things, that's where they are out displayed.

SPEAKER_02

What are you talking about?

SPEAKER_04

Like when you out and not the alcohol ones now.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Yes, he's saying yes. They're in the Walgreen checkout where kids would see Puerto Rico. Oh. Not a here. Well, that seems not great for parents.

SPEAKER_04

Because the kids want to get always on the way out to the cash registered. They're so sugary. Um, they are called gasolina, which that's the brand. Gasolina. Yeah. Like I've Daddy Yankee, which is a big Puerto Rican uh reggaeton singer. He had this gasolina.

SPEAKER_01

I've heard so and it's that really that brand that makes you singria pouches. They're like, Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_04

I even call my nephew and he's like, stay away from them.

SPEAKER_01

Really? Okay. Well, Tina, I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_04

Sorry, Tina.

SPEAKER_01

She was sending us looking out for herself. Sending us product suggestions, and I'll see if I can get them past the board and into a product review. But for the time being, the gasoline sangria is not happening. It's a no-go. What is a go? Damn daddy.

Pride Trip Plans At Stonewall

SPEAKER_02

Flight's booked. I'm excited. Well, damn daddy, yes. And damn daddy's going to damn New York. Oh JJ. And of course, you know, Megan, you were invited. You said you might pop in. Pop in. She's always pop in, but she won't make it. But we are super excited. Uh, I want to do a little, we're still in Pride Month. So a little shout out to the trip in terms of one of the things that we're gonna do while we're there is we are gonna go to Stonewall. Which the last time I was there, I did go to Stonewall with Melissa. And um we we were very scheduled that particular day, and when we got there, we didn't get to stay, or I didn't get to stay as long as I would have liked, although we had a great time. And so this time when we go back, um, we won't have that time commitment or you know, like yeah, so free-flow, yeah, relaxed and stuff.

SPEAKER_04

And you've never been, I've never been in a summer. No, to Stonewall. Oh, to Stonewall, yeah, yeah. I've never been.

SPEAKER_02

Never been to Stonewall. And so, I mean, I I would hope that most people listening to this pod at this point would know what Stonewall is. But for those just in case, it's a gay bar in Greenwich Village that became the flashpoint uh for the 1969 Stonewall uprising. So I'll just there's a lot more to the story than that. It deserves a lot more than what I just gave it. But like if you I mean, it's a huge part of history, our history. So excited. It's I mean, please do your research and homework if you don't know about this. Um, but yeah, super excited. We're also gonna see a couple of Mary with Maya Rudolph.

SPEAKER_01

That'll be amazing.

SPEAKER_04

Maya Maya Titanic. I call it Titanic.

SPEAKER_02

I said Titanic. Yeah, that's a good idea. I don't know which is yeah, I don't know which one is right, to be honest, but super excited. Yes, but I'm sure it'll I'm sure we'll have some adventures. You're traveling, you'll have some adventures. So I think in a future podcast, yeah, we'll bring it all back around. We will. Well excited.

Canada Med Spa Botox Mission

SPEAKER_01

And I also just came back from an international trip. I crossed the border to Canada. Yeah. So for all the slippers who aren't here, Canada is literally just a drive across the river. And it's away. Yeah, it's like you can see Canada right from the coast of downtown Detroit. Anyway, I went. So, any of our slippers who've listened, you know I had it as a hot topic about going to get beauty treatments in Canada because of the exchange rate that you can save a lot of money on some of these expensive beauty treatments. So I'm in full-on driver's license photo prep mode.

SPEAKER_04

What do you mean?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I have so in Michigan, every 12 years, you have to get a new picture.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So I am required to get a new picture this year for my license.

SPEAKER_02

Because you and I share a birthday month.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

And so I am also up for renewal. Yeah. Are you doing your photo prep?

SPEAKER_01

Well, get ready.

SPEAKER_02

Here's how I've prep for my photo. My options, because my birthday is while we were in New York. I got online to schedule appointment and I had a Monday option or a Tuesday option. My prep was no haggard Monday. No Tuesday. Otherwise, I don't have any prep. I'm not going to another country to take measures to prep for my driver's license.

SPEAKER_01

This photo is gonna live with you for 12 years. And you know what I always think about? If you go missing, lots of times that first photo that gets shown on all the news neutral is your driver's license. You do not want to fuck that photo up.

SPEAKER_02

But don't you feel at that point like you've got bigger fish to fly?

SPEAKER_01

Who knows what I'm missing? But I want to go.

SPEAKER_02

I do love, I do appreciate somebody worrying about their missing photo.

SPEAKER_01

Well, who knows? So I'm I also was due for Botox. I've been doing some Botox since I was 30.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I have no idea.

SPEAKER_01

Every few years I add some different Botox areas on. So I knew I wanted to try some new Botox areas. I knew I wanted to get my Botox costs down, and I wanted to get a relationship with a med spa in Canada for some lay, some lay some more treatments, some more.

SPEAKER_04

What do you mean that you want to get into a relationship with a med spa?

SPEAKER_01

Meaning I want to try them out with something I know before I try something I don't know. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So did you accomplish all three of these things with your trip?

SPEAKER_01

100%. So I went to Esteem Windsor, which is this great med spa in Windsor. Shout out Christina. She was a fabulous injectionist.

SPEAKER_02

You used to live an injectionist.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's what she does. She's a nurse, but she is an injectionist. Yes. So we did my normal areas. I do forehead between the brows because the brows, like, I've never wanted to look like Steffi Graf. If you've ever known Sorry, Stephanie. Take a look. When I was younger, I saw what her look like between her brows. And I'm like, because she never wore sunglasses, but she played. Because it it's lit, it stayed with me. And when I heard about Botox, I'm like, that's for me.

SPEAKER_04

Because I don't want Christina the best bet.

SPEAKER_02

I don't want those 11. She held up a picture of Stephanie after Christian. Well, you know. Steph?

SPEAKER_04

Oh no.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Pre-stuff or post-stuff.

SPEAKER_01

I do a little eyes. I do a lip flip. Oops. A lip flip.

SPEAKER_03

Get excited.

SPEAKER_01

And I parlayed. This was my first time to doing a Nefertiti necklift.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

A nephrity necklift and a little chin.

SPEAKER_04

How does the doctor feel about this?

SPEAKER_02

Did he know you went?

SPEAKER_01

He did not know I left the country.

SPEAKER_02

So he had no idea. She left the country. He has no clue.

SPEAKER_04

This is why she's concerned about this picture.

SPEAKER_05

Why not?

SPEAKER_01

Well, and I have Nexus. I've talked about it before. For anyone who lives close to a Canadian border, you want Nexus. $50. You get a Nexus card. She is a fucking Nexus card. And you get global entry. All cheaper than the cost of pre-check, which is $85.

SPEAKER_02

We know it helps pay for your treatments.

SPEAKER_01

And it lets me take that fast lane into Canada driving.

SPEAKER_02

To get that Botox quicker, girl.

SPEAKER_01

But I will tell you, I had a little run-in with Border Patrol. On the way back in, I got to the window and he's like, They couldn't recognize you. I bet you looked I bet you looked completely. Well, I was honest coming in. Like why are you coming to Canada? I said to go to a med spa. And when I came back, I said, I'm coming from a med spa. I had medical treatments done.

SPEAKER_04

And then he's like, Were you with Christina?

SPEAKER_01

No, he's like, roll down your back window. And I'm like, oh, I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

You have tinted windows.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if I can roll my back window down. He goes, You can't, you can't. And I'm like, he goes, that window, and he's like pointing to the back seat window. Much different than the back window. I'm in an SUV. A back window, I'm thinking the back of the car, not the back seat. You thought the hatchback? Yes. No, that I would just think it would be the kind of shook his head at me.

SPEAKER_02

That means that just waved your ass in.

SPEAKER_01

No, I rolled it down then. I'm like, oh, I can do that.

SPEAKER_02

That window is the passenger.

SPEAKER_01

I can do that window.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, this seems this. I wouldn't have told this story about myself.

SPEAKER_01

Then he's like, hands me back my Nexus card. He goes, You need to go online and activate this. So my card that I'm using to go to and fro is not even active.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, he's like, ma'am, ma'am.

SPEAKER_01

At that point, he's like, go on.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah. Get out.

SPEAKER_01

I'm on my way. So that was my Canadian international trip experience.

SPEAKER_04

All the things that you can do for beauty.

SPEAKER_01

In and out in like probably two and a half hours.

SPEAKER_02

Love that. I'm going to use that as my segue.

Beef Tallow Skincare Trend Reality Check

SPEAKER_02

Because would you do this for beauty?

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So I was listening to um, or no, I was reading articles as I do about trends going on. And I stumbled upon this TikTok trend. And as soon as I read it.

SPEAKER_04

Were are you reading an article on TikTok?

SPEAKER_02

No. I was reading an article on trends. Oh. And TikTok is was talked about in the article.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And I read this and I immediately started to do what I normally do, and I would be like sending it to you guys as like we should talk about this potentially. And I'm like, nope. I'm gonna reel that back in. It's like a surprise. Okay. So here is the trend. Okay. People are starting to use beef tallow as a beauty product. And I want to know if you guys would be willing to use it.

SPEAKER_01

Well, how are they using it? I think that's critical.

SPEAKER_04

Let's just start it with saying that I don't even know what beef tell is.

SPEAKER_01

They're using it a lot with cooking. I don't know. Beef and oil.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. It's rendered beef fat. Meaning it's fat from a cow that has been slowly heated down, strained, and turned into a solid, creamy fat. To your point, people used to use it, or people typically historically have used it for cooking, they've used it for candles, soap, and stuff like that. Well, some people are going to the grocery store or their butchers. There's two components to this. So I'm going to tell you the extreme. So to the extreme, is curious if you guys would do this. They are going to like their butchers and asking for beef tallow, and they are using it as a way to as a beauty thing, beauty skin treatment, claiming that it not only moisturizes your skin, but supports your skin barrier and makes your face look softier, glowier, and more youthful. So would you go to your butcher or order beef tallow and slather it all over your face to see?

SPEAKER_04

So I don't have to inject that on myself. This is not it, no.

SPEAKER_02

Well, a lot of it's like taking you know, like fat like think about like bacon when you all the grease and then it starts to solidify. It'd be like I assume. Similar to that, you would just lather it like but for the sake of beauty.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I want to see what the scientific studies are on it.

SPEAKER_02

I don't have that.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Well then no. Well, then it just seems like a because I've heard a lot about beef tallow and like there's a fast food restaurant. I don't know if it's Wendy's or who it is. They're doing their fries, they're cooking their fries in beef tallow. And then remember, I had those Vanderbilt chips.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Those are cooked in beef tallow. So it's been a hot topic as far as foods go for a while. So I'd like to know the difference between if I'm consuming it, what beauty benefits I get versus putting it on the floor.

SPEAKER_02

Well, if you're consuming it as in like chips that were cooked in beef tallow, I don't think that's gonna make you glowier. Let's just say it's just uh like an oil that you would cook it like any other.

SPEAKER_01

Well, no, it's meant to have special, that's why they're using it because it has all these extra health benefits and beauty benefits.

SPEAKER_02

So, how would you do it like a facial type of thing? Yeah, you would just put it on. Influencer saying that it helps not only with the things I said, but also acne, eczema, fine lines, and just overall skin health.

SPEAKER_01

Now, do they leave it on or do they wipe it off like a mouse? Put it on, or do they sleep in it, or how does that work?

SPEAKER_04

Put it on and kind of like you slip it in, you live it in, and then you pull it out. Wipe it out.

SPEAKER_01

So you do take it off after a certain one.

SPEAKER_02

I don't, I haven't tried it yet.

SPEAKER_01

But what would you try it?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you gotta I don't know. Well, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

So far, I've heard no good real I I need some more statistics about the benefits. So I'm a no. And I feel like it might make me smell.

SPEAKER_02

Well, it might make you smell, I would assume. But I guess the question is, and I appreciate the responses, but I think it's kind of rooted in any trend. To your point, Megan, like people will jump on a trend before there's really scientific evidence about it. Like, I just I was listening to a show uh uh the Today show today. Oh no, it was a podcast, I think, and someone's like are um Amy Puller was asking uh shout out to Good Hang. Good Hang. Uh, what's his name? I asked you earlier Coleman Domingo, and she's like, Are you on the peptides? And he's like, I'm not on the peptides yet. But I've heard a lot, I've heard a lot about the peptides, and she goes, same. She's like, he's like, Are you on the peptides? And she's like, I want to be on the peptides, and he's like, Do you know what they do? And she goes, I don't, but I'm just taking them. I just want to take them.

SPEAKER_01

Like, no, do you like no peptides is hardcore real scientific evidence? Yes, and like I almost celebrities are on peptides.

SPEAKER_02

But like, I think there's a part of me that just feels like I would be like, Yes, order me peptides without me actually doing the research because I hear that they're all good, and there's no side like I would take them without needing peptides for different things, so you would not just want to take them without knowing, like, oh, like there's ones that are a bunch of different things together they call the glow tox.

SPEAKER_01

And so it's all about making your skin glow and skin benefits.

SPEAKER_02

So I knew this one would know. Well, I would cheese on it.

SPEAKER_01

I'm I'm dying to get some packets. I think the question here's the price, it's a very high cost every month. Now, if I can get them in Canada, we might be in the market.

SPEAKER_02

I think the question is sometimes something comes out and it makes a claim and people jump on it. And whether it's this or something else, like how quickly are you guys to jump on something and just be like, Well, I heard it's great, I'll just try it. So, like, I mean, it's not gonna, you're not gonna die from beef tallow rub a rub-down, but I mean, it's make the I mean, okay, let me tell you though, here's the thing dermatologist reality check. So, I did do some research. Beef tallow can work as an moisturizer, which means it can help lock moisture into the skin. But most doctors say there's very little scientific research proving that it is better than conventional moisturizers, and it can also clog your pores for some people, especially those that are acne prone. And homemade products can really vary in quality, smell, and safety. Oh, there you go.

SPEAKER_01

So it's a no. Yeah, but I mean, I like there's no real evidence that shows it's doing much of anything.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but this is how the internet goes, right? Yeah, but here's the other thing. Here's the other component to it as because of this trend and all the attention, there are now regular products that are being made. I haven't tried any of these. We might want to try one of these, test these out for a future pod. There's Tupes, I like that name. Toops, toopes and co. Hearth and homestead, Clara and Fitz, and Summer Solace Tallow, all which are some sort of like actual like moisturizing product with tallow in it, versus it being like all tallow. So I mean, I mean, would you do it in a bougie jar?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I again, like, I don't know, just don't get all the reasons different creams that I use for different things for different things. So would you try it?

SPEAKER_04

I would try it.

SPEAKER_01

If I had it, yeah, I'd try it if it didn't smell and it had like I just tried some other product you gave me that stunk like salmon in a real science behind it.

SPEAKER_02

We'll talk about that in another pot.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. But then I'm like, I would try maybe Salmon sperm before that.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's has real like that has been shown to have real medical benefits. So yes, I get that.

SPEAKER_02

God, you could fight Christina for her job. I should know better than to bring like scientists.

SPEAKER_01

Well, no, I don't think it's bad, but it just sounds more like it's faddish versus real new true beauty.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not buying or selling it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah either way, but I just thought it's interesting how somebody can make get online, throw some beef fat on their face, and then all of a sudden it's all the rain.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I do think beef tallow has had this big moment because of all these foods that they're cooking in it, because it's been shown to be healthier, higher and pro like it had like there's all these better reasons. So I think the fat of beef tallow just has gone from ingesting it to also putting it on your body.

SPEAKER_02

Well, I can tell you this. Let me see. In the last, over the course of the last six months, search interest in beef tallow is up 260% with around 1.9 million searches a month. Let's leave it there.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Let's just so there you go.

SPEAKER_04

There you go. Well, we'll transition a little bit.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

Hunting For The Song Of Summer

SPEAKER_04

Lexi from Lexis Love.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

Hi, Lexi.

SPEAKER_04

We're getting ready from the VD to what can get us into the mood for the summer. She thinks that Mexico honey might be the song of the summer.

SPEAKER_01

No. Oh she's just shouting you down, Lexi. Wow. See, Lexi? This is how she rolls. This is not a good thing. It doesn't even move me. I gotta leave.

SPEAKER_04

Lexi, tell us. I think we are on the quest slippers off the like on the Sun of the Summer. Like we are really trying to find it. And I think that this might be a contender.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

I've heard it could be a contender. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I will say Ella Langley is it is yeah, it's a big, big, big people are talking about her.

SPEAKER_02

This is not me making a case for it to be sung in summer. Let me be clear before anybody comes for me. Because it is another country song, but I think we're gonna we'll get there. But she has been at the top of the charts now for 28 straight weeks as of June 13th. So what I have heard, this is on the Billboard charts. What I have heard is how can she not be a contender for Song of the Summer? Originally they thought it came out too soon, but the staying power of the song for 28 weeks is like, how can she not be a contender?

SPEAKER_01

So I hear that, but I to me it's not about just being on the charts and being tops. You have to be, it has to be kind of like this wave that overtakes the world. And it's a song that when you play it, it lets it be a bad it gets you, yeah, it gets you up and running, like a blurred lines, um like a gold digger, a party in the USA. Like you've got to have these songs that like move you. That's too slow and laborious.

SPEAKER_02

But you know what? I also heard is that Gen Z do not really care to dance, and they just kind of don't pick up their feet, they just kind of sway back and forth and side to side. So maybe people aren't looking to have bangers. Maybe the new generation is like, I just want to do this, I just want to do this, and that'll be my summer song. Well, I'm on my gummies, I'm taking my gummies, and I'm just doing my gummies, I'm just doing this right now.

SPEAKER_04

But I have to tell you that part of that contender list might be Lisa Barlow.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I cannot.

SPEAKER_04

She just came up with the song that she thinks might be the song of the summer. Baby Gorgeous.

SPEAKER_01

Baby Gorgeous? Yes. I'm sorry, you can't kill my fuck. Don't you wait? I thought it was gonna be.

SPEAKER_02

I don't see her dance, JJ. I don't think they can do it.

SPEAKER_01

Now give me a little blessed if I like getting something going. But is this it?

SPEAKER_02

Does she say baby gorgeous?

SPEAKER_04

Baby gorgeous.

SPEAKER_01

I mean that's crazy. It does sound better than I would have thought.

SPEAKER_02

Like on Impromptu. It was not actually you're thinking about In a manger.

SPEAKER_00

No clear. The Lady Lord just come a long way. No, lay down, baby gorgeous.

SPEAKER_02

This is what I was talking about when this other song was playing.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, Downwell Hailey. Little Pitchy. And little Lord. Little Pitchy Dogs. No crying, heymade. No. Is that it?

SPEAKER_02

Bravo, bravo.

SPEAKER_01

I have heard some snippets of a song from Madonna. Oh Danceteria. And let me tell you, I think that 100% could be the song of the summer. It is. Oh, there you go. Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Danceria.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Is this the thing? The song of the summer. This is the first place.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. See?

SPEAKER_02

If you're only listening, you should watch our video because this has got me get moving. Look at us.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. All right.

SPEAKER_02

This might be it. That I like. I like that.

SPEAKER_01

Miss Madonna might have it as Song of the Summer. That like you need something a little more upbeat.

SPEAKER_04

I did get that. Yeah. Yeah. I definitely get that.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, if you have to go country, I might have to throw out Cowgirl by Shaboozy. Because I'm not into the country music, but let me tell you that something I like the Shaboozy song. Yeah. It's kind of like I could see myself like sipping a drink in the pool and shabooz. Hearing this little cowgirl song.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but do you think that's I'm trying to find it?

SPEAKER_02

No one.

SPEAKER_04

Do you think that um like shabozy, it is, in my opinion, like country adjacent. Casey is like a little bit more of a concept. I like it.

SPEAKER_02

I like when their the lines are a little bit blurry.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, I kind of like the idea of him being like more into yeah, this is a song.

SPEAKER_02

Casey Musgraves crosses over. Is this it? Yeah. You know a shaboozy song when you hear it. Yes, it is a shabooz. I'm like, oh, shabooz is at it again.

SPEAKER_04

And something I have to say too. You know who is in this cacao, Gorilla?

SPEAKER_01

Sierra, our girl Sierra from Revenge!

SPEAKER_04

Revenge Queen Sierra.

SPEAKER_02

This is he's got the same. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, she's stimulated.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I love it. Wild little cowgirl, shoot him up. Well, you like the lyrics.

SPEAKER_02

You always used to ask me.

SPEAKER_04

We are on the quest for the Son of the Summer for shit.

SPEAKER_02

You would ask people Do you like to do the dirty cowboy?

SPEAKER_01

No, think you're confusing with someone else.

SPEAKER_02

Well.

SPEAKER_01

Because I've never said that or even know. That's insane. We made this up. It's not about it.

SPEAKER_04

Do you want to do the dirty cowboy cowgirl? Well, I don't know what she does with the doctor. Well, slippers, we are on the hunt for the Song of the Summer. That's for sure.

SPEAKER_02

I think those are all good. Lisa, maybe not. But the rest of them are contenders, I feel. Yeah. They're all in the mix.

SPEAKER_04

Do you when you said Lisa is not, are you talking about away in the manger or a baby coin?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I say both to no to both.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yes. Away in the manger, maybe if they remixed it.

SPEAKER_04

We are on the tail end of uh Pride Month.

Free PrEP Through Mistr Telehealth

SPEAKER_05

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

And one thing that we do is bring in a product that we like or something that we're obsessed with. And I think that this is something that we could be a good PSA for all the gays and the girls out and about. The gays and the girls. Yeah, I mean, just so that we are all aware of what Michigan and the rest of the nation is bringing. Uh, I was introduced to this by one of my closest friends, Mr. M-I-S-D-R. Okay, is able to provide prep medication to all of those that need it at no cost. You can have insurance and not insurance.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, it is amazing.

SPEAKER_04

It is and honestly speaking, I was with a different doctor. I actually signed up for it myself, and it was so easy. It was so, so easy. And I want to just say just and I'm gonna read some things like PrEP, if you have never heard of it, is a medication that can actually reduce the risk of getting HIV through sex by about 99%. Um, and Mr. offers online consultations, lab testing, STA testing, and prescriptions and medications delivered through a telehealth model. I did not even have to go to my doctor in person, it was all online. I had a consultation with the doctor. How long was that? It was about three minutes.

SPEAKER_02

Like a regular sex scene.

SPEAKER_04

It was a quickie. Oh my god. It was a quickie. And then they sent me my kit. You can actually opt for having it on in person if you want to be in person, but you don't have to do it in person. It's kind of your your Uber or your DoorDash on Prep. Like 100%.

SPEAKER_02

And what's in the kit?

SPEAKER_04

The kit is just like a little prick. You you have to return him? Do you have to return that?

SPEAKER_02

Or do you get to keep it?

SPEAKER_04

No, you have to return the prick. You prick yourself. You get it back, you put it back in the package.

SPEAKER_02

And that is to test for HIV.

SPEAKER_04

For HIV.

SPEAKER_02

Because I am on prep and also a PSA, like you can't you have to test negative in order to be put on the medicine. You have to have like a valid test. And then once you can prove that you don't have it, you can go on prep. So this is part of this process of getting on Mr.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Yeah. And if you are interested to, I don't know if any of you have heard of it, but you also can actually participate on not just PrEP, which is a daily pill that you have to take and commit to it.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_04

Um, but also they also offer a doxy pill, which is a pill after sex that will help you prevent from any uh STDs.

SPEAKER_05

Oh wow I haven't heard of that. Doxy.

SPEAKER_04

So and they will you can go either or because there are some side effects that come along with that. Oh um, but on the side of being you know preventative of all those diseases that might come in with ad, yeah, and we're talking about unprotected sex, yeah. If you're going into that direction, it might feel a little bit better.

SPEAKER_02

Um I mean. I got you.

SPEAKER_04

Um, but if you do, I mean if you don't, there are condoms, magnums preferable. Look at you.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_04

I think this is out of control.

SPEAKER_01

It is a little unbelievable.

SPEAKER_04

I listen, I think that it's what did you say?

SPEAKER_02

Nothing.

SPEAKER_04

But I think that it will be good for our case out and about.

SPEAKER_02

So doxy you're not taking every day. Not you, but like in general.

SPEAKER_04

You don't.

SPEAKER_02

You take it only when you're and I'm not trying to belittle the situation, but like if you just had a hookup and you're like that seemed a little sketchy, you're gonna take your doxy. Correct. If you we've had those moments.

SPEAKER_01

It's kind of like the morning after pill. What is pretty much?

SPEAKER_02

What happens if I mean listen, let's just be real. A lot of people are probably having unprotected sex while being under the influence of something.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So if they they may not have the wherewithal immediately after to take the doxy, yeah, right. I don't know if you probably didn't prepare for this question, but I would be interested to know like what's the window of time. Like 72 hours. Oh, you do have it. So like in the morning, if I wake up, yeah, you're good. So I'm good. Or when you get home, or even I've got a couple days. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Do you have the walk of shame and the morning and all of this is free so free. Where could someone go? Michigan is one of them.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

So I think that if you do live in Michigan, I think that safe is the route to go. Yeah, 100%. Just being safe. Absolutely. So you can go to mister.com and you can just set it up. I honestly I set it up myself within like probably five, ten minutes the most. Nice. And within a couple days, I had my kid, my consultation with my doctor, and ready to go.

SPEAKER_02

Ready to go. Ready to go.

SPEAKER_01

I think it's awesome. I love it.

SPEAKER_02

I will just say this. I'm gonna have to. I don't know how Home Depot's little uh sprinkler system feels about this because I've all I've gifted the mister to a lot of people. It's this oh you have you know the mister. I got you a mister, I got Diana Mister. Not me. Oh, but they're oh smile. Uh a mister. A mist like a mister. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's spelled M-I-S-T-E-R. So is this? No, this is M-I-S-T-E-T-R. No E. Really.

SPEAKER_02

That's why I wanted to spell it.

SPEAKER_04

When you oh I spell it at the beginning of a product review.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Well, I just glossed over that. Yeah. But yeah, Mr. That's a great product review. Yeah. I'll have to try it. I'm gonna go off uh well, I'm gonna look into it and then I might go off what I'm currently.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, my what I have is covered by insurance, but I still have a copay for my well to your point though, Maddie, like it you don't even have to be an insurance. That's a I mean if you're if you're living in Michigan, we have you know the legislation have be been able to pass so that you can actually get access to prep for free. As it should be. As it should be.

SPEAKER_01

And I think many states have that many. Like I know New York and some other states as well. Well, New York better. I think California may as well.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, 100%.

SPEAKER_02

Progressive states. All right, show me slips and

Netherlands Reaches Zero Stray Dogs

SPEAKER_02

simple loss. Should we slip it in and pull it out?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, absolutely. I can go ahead and go first. So my slip it in is shout out to the Netherlands. They are the first country. No, this is a shout-out. Like, you're gonna want to know this. Like they are the first country to eliminate stray dogs without relying on euthanasia. So they have achieved a zero stray status by in having very strict animal welfare laws, mandatory microchipping, government-funded sterilization campaigns, and heavy penalties for pet abandonment.

SPEAKER_02

I find that, Scotch. What do you mean? Well, how can you claim to have zero? It only takes one runaway dog to no longer be zero.

SPEAKER_01

Well, they're touting this as that we've gotten rid of all our stray dogs.

SPEAKER_02

Well, can I tell you, like on Tuesday, if a dog decides to run away, I'm a stray.

SPEAKER_01

But they have microchipping, so they'd be able to go find that owner, and that's not a stray dog, it's a dog that got out. Yes, that's part of why they have no stray dogs. They have mandatory microchipping.

SPEAKER_02

She's got all her bases covered.

SPEAKER_01

I said it, mandatory microchipping.

SPEAKER_02

I know, JJ. I should have. Like, you shouldn't.

SPEAKER_01

And the government pays for sterilization of the animal, the dog.

SPEAKER_04

You know, she's coming in.

SPEAKER_01

So, like, shout out to the Dutch government and the Netherlands.

SPEAKER_04

Great.

SPEAKER_01

Because I think that's so amazing because here we're killing dogs so many every single day. It's kills me. What are they doing? So many dogs abandoned constantly. It's it's sickening.

SPEAKER_02

Are they doing anything for the cats?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I only heard about the dogs. Fair enough.

SPEAKER_04

So the cat probably have my own. You are the only street here that has cat crossings. Beware cross crossing crossings.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and you've now got a new friend. You have a little Albert who's a cat hanging out.

SPEAKER_02

I had Albert until I put something on next door, and I think the owner might have got wind of it, and I haven't seen Albert since.

SPEAKER_01

Well, we were about to like, I was ready to re-home him, find him at home because every night he was hanging out at Mass. He was.

SPEAKER_02

It was the most amount of company I've had in a long time.

SPEAKER_01

He was very cute. He was a beautiful white cat with beautiful blue eyes. Yeah. I love see, I kind of miss him. I'm looking for him every time I'm here. Well, with that, I have a pull it

Packaging Waste From Oversized Shipping Boxes

SPEAKER_01

out. And this just gets me constantly. And I have something to show for it. So my pull it out.

SPEAKER_04

I love it when be careful with your blur because yours are at maximum.

SPEAKER_01

My pull it out is when they ship something in a very large box.

SPEAKER_02

Hers is at max.

SPEAKER_01

For anyone who's on a YouTube can see it.

SPEAKER_02

Who's any on a if you're on a YouTube?

SPEAKER_01

Sorry. Um it's a box. If you're watching via YouTube, this was a Sephora pullout. It still is. But many companies do this. So it's a very large box. And this is what was shipped.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

This teeny little I mean, this would have fit in an envelope or a baby box. Like almost you don't even need a box for it.

SPEAKER_02

It's like a a bag. It's like a hot dog in a hallway. Yeah. Pretty much.

SPEAKER_01

It's ridiculous.

SPEAKER_02

Have you heard that from that?

SPEAKER_01

So that's my pullout. Because now not only do I have a large box to dispose of, I've got all this wrapping paper in here. Because you put it in a box, it was not even one time size too big. Like 200%.

SPEAKER_04

You know what makes it a double pullout?

SPEAKER_01

What?

SPEAKER_04

That you have to keep that recycling here to Maddie's because your recycling is restricted.

SPEAKER_02

She's left much bigger boxes here.

SPEAKER_01

That is actually uh small split in. The split it in is that it was delivered here. But I will say it's I don't deal with this.

SPEAKER_02

Happen to that's a large box for that shipment, but it's a small box for what she's left me before. That's the smallest box she's ever left me.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I can't help it if I have to somehow. I do agree with that.

SPEAKER_02

That could have gone in an envelope.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's insane.

SPEAKER_04

Like a box. One of those like white envelopes that they have. Why not?

SPEAKER_01

100%. It's insane.

SPEAKER_04

But I do see that the box says Sephora. So I I wonder if it was just Sephora doing the decision making.

SPEAKER_01

Sephora needs to get some envelopes. No, it's not Amazon. This has something to do with Amazon.

SPEAKER_02

You can get stuff from other places than Amazon, JJ.

SPEAKER_01

I will say, for the most part, Amazon's actually pretty good about box size.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

They're not 100%, but they for the most part do pretty good.

SPEAKER_02

I they have yeah, and they've they've got envelopes, they've got all engineering their and a lot of times they're just shipping now.

SPEAKER_01

They put no box, no bag, nothing.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I know. And just sh and like they suck the it's like um those bags, those bags where you can do for your luggage.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, they take all the air out of it, yes.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I have a pair of shorts today. This is not an Amazon for the New York pullout. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

It's mini company pullout, but in this case, we'll specifically target Sephora. This was a major pull-out.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

No Sephora, no, no, no, Sephora, no, no, no. You you go, me go.

World Cup Fever And No Cups

SPEAKER_04

I could go. Slip it in. World Cup. 2026. World Cup. Soccer World Cup. World. World.

SPEAKER_01

You said wear a cup.

SPEAKER_04

Same. You guys at this point.

SPEAKER_01

This is like, oh my god, why? This is weird. Is this only for the boys or is it for the girls too?

SPEAKER_02

Wear a cup. World. Well, it still works for soccer. You might want to wear a cup.

SPEAKER_04

Soccer, World Cup. This is what I have to do with my two white co-hosts.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, well, this doesn't have anything to do with skip.

SPEAKER_02

World Cup Asian aficionados.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I'm so excited. Since 2010, Spain was like the first time and last time that they won the War Club. They are one of the favorites to win it on 2026. So I'm very, very excited for that. That is going to be my slip it in.

SPEAKER_02

I'm going to try to get into it and get because it's you know everything, everywhere, all the time. And I mean, I you know, I struggle with how they score. I mean, I get it. You do kick a goal, you get a point. But there's much more to it when refs start making arbitrary decisions about keeping the game going that I could do a whole episode on, like a QA, where you help me.

SPEAKER_04

But plus also, like I think that, and maybe this could be a good topic. I think that soccer is like one of those sports that the hottest men play on soccer. 100%.

SPEAKER_01

Really?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I agree. Really? 100%.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I'm gonna have to do some investment.

SPEAKER_03

Like, tell me.

SPEAKER_01

Let me ask you this. This goes back to the cup business. Are soccer players wearing cups? No, they're not. No, no, which you know we've learned. This was news to me. The NFL players have stopped wearing the cups.

SPEAKER_04

Sometimes they're just free balling.

SPEAKER_02

You got very busy on the internet zooming in on these football players. It was a whole new world for me. But yeah, so it was a whole new hard player for her. Soccer players. Haven't you seen videos where like they'll grab on and like all of a sudden shit's explodes? Just Google it. Yes. Google it means.

SPEAKER_01

So you're saying in these soccer games, you're seeing a penis.

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, if you're lucky, all you have to do is Google it. Yeah. And remove the blur. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The more you know. The more you know.

SPEAKER_04

This is a my PSA. It is a PSA. My pull it out.

Yall Debate And However Comma

SPEAKER_04

It is the term y'all. Oh, I use it. All the time. We're not in the South.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, so it's only okay in the South.

SPEAKER_04

In my opinion. I'm gonna give you your space and then I'll comment. I we are in the Midwest, and when people are like y'all, and then if you were to do, I've have some people come to come to me and said y'all all.

SPEAKER_05

Well, that's a that's I'm opposed to that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So y'all should be on the south. It is a term for that.

SPEAKER_02

And there are it's okay if it happens there. Sorry. Okay. Here's why I use it.

SPEAKER_04

Why? Because are you from the south?

SPEAKER_02

No. I'll tell you though, I use it because I don't like saying you guys when I'm referring and you just said you. No. If I'm talking about hold on. If I'm talking about you and you and you're a female, I don't like saying you guys. Because she's not a guy. So I try to be conscious of that, and the best replacement for me is y'all.

SPEAKER_01

What about you two? Thank you so much. Okay. Or everyone.

SPEAKER_04

That was gonna be my response.

SPEAKER_01

Or everyone.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I wouldn't say everyone.

SPEAKER_04

You two.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but uh but a lot of times I'm talking about more than two people, so I don't want to be like you six. Well, then you're like, everyone. Okay, but I'm using just so you know, because I respect your pull it out, but just so you know, I'm using it not because I think I'm cool and want to even say I'm from the south, I'm doing it because I'm making a conscious decision not to put the you guys tag on females, which I'm not always great at. I still use it, but I try when I catch myself, and especially in typing, I'll use y'all.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, see, that's I don't mind it in a verbal situation. I don't think in a typing situation you should be using it, especially not at work.

SPEAKER_02

No, well, I yell it all day.

SPEAKER_01

That seems really unprofessional.

SPEAKER_02

You well, I'm not using it to talk to like senior counsel leadership. If I'm talking with my colleagues, I'm like, how y'all feeling today?

SPEAKER_01

No, oh my god, see, that is bad. That is bad. I can accept it in a verbal format, but the fact that you're typing it in and you are not from the south and it's not really your vernacular, I it is my vernacular, and it's a pull out, then that's okay.

SPEAKER_04

You can continue doing it.

SPEAKER_02

Use the apostrophe correctly. No, it's not appropriate. Well, I have a punctuation. That's not punctuation per se, but it's grammar. I have a slip it in punctuation that I like saying, and I'm gonna try to start using it, and I want I haven't I this sounds problematic. I haven't started using it, I haven't started using it yet because I wanted to talk to y'all about it. There we go. Y'all about it, I just said see, see, I can't. It's I'm gonna start saying however, comma out loud.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no, this is why would you want to do it and you've never done it? This is highly inappropriate. No, however, comma. I'm gonna say that in your verbal.

SPEAKER_02

Listen, no, listen, I'm gonna say stuff like you guys can come over and we can start recording at three, however, comma. No, I might be running a little late. No, no, I'm gonna say it.

SPEAKER_04

No, if I get that and a text, is it a text or just like speaking words?

SPEAKER_02

No, he's using it verbally. I might put it in writing again. Well, writing is a bit more than a wrong way. But I would spell out the word comma. I wouldn't put it in coming. Absolutely not.

SPEAKER_04

If that happens, I'm gonna put I'm gonna give you a thumbs up.

SPEAKER_02

A thumbs up reaction. Well, I don't mind the thumbs up. You are the one, however, comma, that doesn't like it.

SPEAKER_01

Why would you think that's anything to do with it? However, it seems ridiculous. It makes you sound uneducated.

SPEAKER_02

Does it? Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yes, 100%.

SPEAKER_02

We'll see what the general public set has to say.

SPEAKER_01

But what makes you think it's something you want to do?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. I like it. I like it. We don't agree. I heard it. We don't agree. Where did you hear it? I heard it on um an event that I was watching. And it was a drag queen. Oh, and the drag queen was like, however, comma.

SPEAKER_04

But it's a character, she's moving up a character.

SPEAKER_01

It's on RuPaul's drag race. Like they're trying to be extra.

SPEAKER_02

Like y'all can say what you want to say. However, I'm gonna keep being me. Okay.

Manhole Mishaps And Street Awareness

SPEAKER_02

My pull it out is I do know that it's still Pride Month, so this could be sketchy, but I my pull it out is manholes. Double entendre. Have you seen? I'd really like to talk about did you see the woman, first of all, that well, she died. She died. We all yes. Did you I watched a video? That's manhole number one. Manhole number two happened in Brazil.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I saw that.

SPEAKER_02

This woman is walking around taxing out her. This I can laugh a little bit, she survived. The manhole flips up, she falls down, but like her neck or her head hits the yeah, it's gonna be she bounces. I'm gonna pause. Everyone, nobody say a word for one second because I am gonna pause here on the pod because and the video, I'm gonna insert the video into the pod. Okay, so that's where I was gonna put it. So if you want to see this video, tune in to the video piece of it because I'm gonna insert it. It I can't even like I texted this to my colleagues Friday morning after we had a night out Thursday night and we talked about this topic, and I said, This is how I'm feeling this morning.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_02

I am walking around now purposefully avoiding manholes, as you all should as well. Yeah, I always don't walk. No, wouldn't you just walk over? These two women thought, I mean, most people I'm always avoiding them.

SPEAKER_04

I find them sketched, they don't care, like you don't even think about it.

SPEAKER_02

No, you just walk over a manhole, and I don't think they were even looking, that was the point.

SPEAKER_01

Well, correct. They didn't know it was a manhole. Exactly. They didn't even know a manhole was in their footpath. Yeah. Well, I mean, you ask like it's a fact, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, uh, even if yes or no, they should think that a manhole ain't gonna be how they're gonna go out this in this world.

SPEAKER_01

Well, no, it's it would freak me out. That's why I'm always avoided.

SPEAKER_04

That would sleep me out, yeah. Keep me out. Well, yeah, 100%.

SPEAKER_02

I used to walk right over the manholes. Well, not anymore.

SPEAKER_04

I'm walking around manholes, not even in Pride Pride Month.

SPEAKER_02

That's what I'm saying. The rest of my life, no more manholes.

SPEAKER_01

No, that's probably smart.

SPEAKER_02

And if I do, I'm taking some doxy.

SPEAKER_01

All right.
