Questions or Comments: Slip It In Here!
Slipper-turned-guest Nick joins Matty, Megan and JJ at the table, first settling some unfinished business with his top fries and nuts before helping with a blind ketchup taste test featuring Heinz, Trader Joe’s and zero-sugar contenders. Then the bandana comes off and Nick’s seriously luscious long hair sends the conversation in a very different direction.
The group gets into Nick’s hair routine, the return of bobs, lobs, bixies, shullets and skullets before hair gets weird fast. There’s Rapunzel Syndrome, the rare condition involving swallowed hair forming a mass in the stomach that can extend into the small intestine, plus hair fetishes, hair phobias and a particularly memorable discussion of hair jacking.
The episode also includes Heinz’s new Love Lid, new food drops from Taco Bell, Oreo and Domino’s, and this week’s Slip It Ins and Pull It Outs. Nick brings Troye Sivan’s “She’s the Best” and the use of AI in music, JJ scores a Spanish soccer jersey on Depop and delivers a Creature Feature involving an octopus attached to a fisherman’s face, while Matty celebrates ponytails before raising questions about current blood-donation eligibility rules.

JJ (00:00): That ending, um, I'm I'm glad that you brought it up.
Matty (00:03): Talking about the donating blood.
JJ (00:04): Donating blood, yeah.
Matty (00:06): You guys should all listen to it. And Nick, having Nick here today was great. Thank you for coming, Nick. Did you enjoy it? Watch the episode, listen to the episode, get to know Nick.
Megan (00:16): Uh and uh we talk about Ed Sheeran and his holes. Yes.
JJ (00:20): I mean, what more do you want? It was, I have to say, in summary, it was a hairy episode.
Matty (00:25): It was a little hairy episode.
Megan (00:26): Very much so.
Matty (00:28): Check us out, find out why.
[00:30] Podcast Voiceover Opening
Podcast Voiceover Opening (00:30): You laugh, you cringe, you'll beg for more with a guilty pleasure you can't ignore.
JJ (00:37): Like a drunk text sent at 2 a.m. We slipped it in again.
[00:46] Welcome and Meet Nick
Megan (00:46): Welcome, welcome, welcome, everyone. We're back, slipping it in with you, bringing you the unhinged brunch conversation that you just can't stop listening to. I'm Megan, and I'm here with Matty and JJ. And we have a special guest here with us today, Nick.
Nick (01:05): Hello.
Megan (01:05): Hello, hello, welcome, Nick. We're so happy that you're here.
Nick (01:09): Thank you for having me.
Megan (01:10): Yes, thank you for being here.
Matty (01:12): It's amazing what a little phone call can do. Oh my god. Exactly.
Megan (01:16): Nick is one of our slippers, which we love all our slippers. And he, if you remember, called in wanting to know our top three fries.
JJ (01:26): Yeah. He was a first-time caller, longtime listener. Exactly.
Matty (01:30): Now he's in the room.
Megan (01:32): Yes, it's awesome. But Nick, you heard what our top three fries were, but what are yours?
Nick (01:39): Okay, good question. So, top three, I'd have to say, number three, Five Guys.
Megan (01:47): Five Guys.
Nick (01:48): I don't think I got a product last year.
JJ (01:50): No, it's a good one.
Megan (01:50): They didn't, and then they have a they do have a good fry.
JJ (01:53): I don't think I've ever had Five Guys, period.
Megan (01:56): Ooh, it's a good maker.
Matty (01:57): You should. Well, because it's a lot. You might want to check that.
Nick (02:01): Five Guys is a lot.
Matty (02:03): Yeah.
Nick (02:04): Okay. Um, number two, McDonald's, of course. Number two, McDonald's. Thoroughly discussed last time. Yes.
JJ (02:11): Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nick (02:12): My number one would have to be uh Checkers or Rally's.
Matty (02:15): Oh, wait. Those are good too. Are those the same? Yes.
Nick (02:19): Checkers and Rally's are the same.
Megan (02:21): They're called different things in different areas of the country.
Nick (02:25): But yeah, same fries, but yeah. Same fry recipe. That's my number one.
Matty (02:29): I didn't know that they because we have both here, don't we? Don't we have a Checkers and a Rally's in Michigan? I don't even remember.
Megan (02:34): Yeah, you're right. I do think we have both.
Matty (02:36): Which is a Checkers? There must be some science. Like this one should be a Checkers, this one should be a rally's.
Megan (02:42): Yeah, or maybe there were two franchises at one point, but then they got bought by the same company, and now they just combine them. So depending, I don't know. Interesting.
Matty (02:50): Yeah.
Megan (02:51): Well, those are all good fries. Interesting. Not my top. Not on your top. Well, I had the the one that we don't like talking about, Chick-fil-A and the Arby Arby's curly fries with cheese sauce.
Matty (03:04): Yeah.
Megan (03:05): So, okay.
Megan (03:10): favorite toppings for a fry. But typically, what a lot of people, especially in America, love is ketchup.
Matty (03:16): Basic.
Megan (03:16): And I was listening to Jeff Lewis Live the other day, and he had on Melissa Rivers, who said she had been doing all these different Wirecutter taste tests and things that they wrote about. If you aren't familiar, Wirecutter always kind of looking for like the best products out there and doing a lot of blind taste tests, et cetera.
JJ (03:36): I've never heard about them.
Megan (03:38): Oh, yeah. So they do a lot. So of course, obviously I heard that. I'm like, oh my God, I want to try the ketchup taste test. So what we did right before we hit record is we did the ketchup taste test.
[03:42] Ketchup Taste Test
JJ (03:51): Yeah. And on popular opinion, I didn't say that to you guys, but I'm typically not a ketchup and fry person.
Matty (03:57): Meaning that you usually don't have no, you have ranch. I'm a ranch with a fry.
JJ (04:01): I'm a ranch with a fry. Me too. What do you do? Ketchup.
Matty (04:06): I'm with you, Nick. I'm all ketchup.
Megan (04:09): The doctor's all about ketchup, and I don't know. I don't really.
Matty (04:14): Also, just for the record, for those that don't know, Melissa Rivers is Joan Rivers' daughter. R.I.P.
Megan (04:21): Joan.
Matty (04:22): R-I-P.
Megan (04:22): We love Joan.
Matty (04:23): Yeah.
Megan (04:24): And actually, I do like, yeah, Melissa too. But anyway, okay. So we did a blind taste test of the five.
Nick (04:30): That was fun.
Megan (04:31): Heinz organic ketchup, Trader Joe's organic ketchup, G Hughes Zero Sugar Ketchup, Heinz Zero Sugar Ketchup.
Matty (04:42): So what we did was we segmented the zero sugars into one category, the other two in the other category, and we picked a winner in both, and then an overall. I was shocked. I got them all wrong. And my mind, I mean, what I like is what I like, but I thought I knew Heinz, and I got I missed Heinz on both.
JJ (05:03): I was shocked as well because I am a big I've for probably more than two, three years been using Trader Joe's ketchup.
Matty (05:13): Oh.
JJ (05:14): And so I would think You came in very confident.
Matty (05:16): You're like, it's a good one.
JJ (05:17): I was immediately and you especially it lost. Funny story because when we were, Megan was the one that put the ketchup out.
Megan (05:24): Yes.
JJ (05:25): Usually Trader Joe's ketchup has that little liquidy thing. Oh. So I have to check it all the time. So as soon as I saw it, I clogged it. I was like, oh, that's a terrible thing.
Megan (05:35): Oh, so you were going by sight more so than taste. And I got it.
JJ (05:40): I don't, I don't know.
Megan (05:42): So what was interesting for me is I usually buy a Heinz organic uh ketchup, or I look for Heinz and I always read the labels because I don't buy anything with uh high fructose corn syrup in it.
Matty (05:59): Yeah.
Megan (06:00): So that's why I buy the organic. If you just get a regular Heinz, it has high fructose corn syrup in it, which I don't I try to stay away from. So I was surprised when I did the blind taste test. I actually, my favorite was the Trader Joe's organic.
Matty (06:16): Yeah.
Megan (06:17): Which was also Melissa Rivers.
Matty (06:19): Yeah. And Nick, wasn't that yours?
Nick (06:20): This was my favorite as well.
JJ (06:22): Yeah.
Matty (06:23): Yeah. You were you both. Have you had Trader Joe's ketchup before? No. This was my first time too. So are you going to make it into your pantry?
Matty (06:33): Okay. Great. It will mine as well. I do non-sugar ketchup.
JJ (06:40): Especially that.
Matty (06:41): This G Hughes has been my favorite, or the one I use.
JJ (06:45): G Hughes.
Matty (06:45): Yes, that's what I meant. G.
JJ (06:47): Yeah.
Matty (06:48): That's his name. G Hughes.
JJ (06:50): We gotta correct him something.
Matty (06:52): He started doing uh making barbecue sugar-free barbecue sauce. Well, wait. He started doing barbecue sauce at festivals. Then some diabetic said, Do you get the can I I've heard your sauce is great. Can you make sugar-free? He did. It went gangbusters. Now, in like Kroger, Meyer, Walmart, you can find his products, and he's got sugar-free barbecue sauces, ketchups, uh, marinades, all the things, and it's great. I'm a big supporter and I love a story like that. So, anyway, we did two non-sugars, and I thought, I mean, I was shocked, and then I was pleasantly surprised because I got them wrong according to my buds, but the one I clocked is my favorite.
Matty (07:38): Taste buds. The one I clocked as my favorite was jeep.
Megan (07:44): Well, it I agree.
Matty (07:45): I was kind of like according to his butt, buds, buds, yes. My buds. According to my buds. And so this one, I I thought I was tasting Heinz when I was tasting this, but I did pick this. I'm like, wow. Okay. Anyway, it's complicated my relationship with ketchup.
JJ (08:03): Not not related to um fries per se, but one thing that I've talked about before is the combination of ketchup and mayo um in my hot dogs.
Matty (08:15): Yep.
JJ (08:16): And one thing that Heinz can or on? On it.
Matty (08:21): I think that's coyote sauce, no?
JJ (08:23): No, it's not. It's called Mayo shoop. Mayo shoop and chop.
Matty (08:29): I think it's chop, like ketchup.
JJ (08:31): Like mayo chop.
Megan (08:33): I think it's mayo chop.
JJ (08:34): Mayo chop.
Matty (08:35): Mayo chop, right.
JJ (08:37): Well, the the reason why I'm hitting a hard time, one, because English is my second language. And second.
Matty (08:43): Well, this isn't English. This is a made-up word.
JJ (08:46): But well, can you can I look at it?
Megan (08:48): It should be mayo chop in Spanish as well.
JJ (08:53): There is a very famous sauce that is pretty much the same combination in Puerto Rico. They call it mayo ketchup.
Megan (09:02): Oh, okay.
JJ (09:03): And this is why when I was going to the aisle and I saw this mayo shop, then I was like, wait, if we're talking about this and we're doing this testing with Heinz and the ketchup, we need to bring this up.
Matty (09:16): I don't think you liked it, did you?
JJ (09:17): I did not. I didn't like it either.
Megan (09:19): See, I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't think I would like it, and I did like it.
Nick (09:24): Oh, you did like it.
Megan (09:24): Not for a fry.
Nick (09:26): It was okay. I yeah, again, for a fry on a burger or on a chicken finger. Do you think you'd like it on a hot dog?
JJ (09:34): I would probably taste it on a hot dog. But the consistency is more mayo flow forward than ketchup. I don't know if that makes sense, but it's like it's more like a very thick.
Matty (09:45): It's like 60-40.
JJ (09:47): It's a 60-40.
Matty (09:48): Like mayo, 60, mayo, 40 ketchup. And you would probably like the other way, maybe?
JJ (09:53): Yeah, and the mayo ketchup from Puerto Rico, it's not just mayo and ketchup, it has some seasoning on it too. That I'm like missing on this sauce. But something that we wanted to try.
Matty (10:06): Wow, we really milked ketchup.
Megan (10:08): I never would have thought we could have had a full ketchup
Matty (10:10): segment. Who would have thought that?
Matty (10:15): ask him like what we really need to know, though? Is this nuts?
[10:18] Nick’s Top 3 Nuts
Megan (10:18): Yeah, we need the nuts.
Matty (10:19): This is a tradition, Nick's. As you know, you better come prepared with your nuts.
Nick (10:25): Okay, top three nuts. Number three.
JJ (10:28): Oh, three two one. Okay, I like it.
Nick (10:30): Number three is gonna be walnuts.
Matty (10:32): Oh, wow. Oh, I cannot.
Nick (10:34): Okay. Good on their own, good on baking. Yeah, that's true. Number two, almonds. Okay. Trusted. True. And number one, it's gotta be cashews.
JJ (10:46): Cashews is your number one.
Megan (10:48): It's a popular one.
Matty (10:49): I'm really there's walnuts continues to be in people's top three, and I'm shocked. Like, I do agree baking, but on their own, I struggle. I struggle with the walnut.
Megan (10:59): A fresh walnut on its own is a very I agree.
JJ (11:03): It's they go back quickly. And I think it's filling too.
Matty (11:06): But it also looks like you're about to eat a tiny vagina. What? No, I can see it now. I can see it now.
JJ (11:16): You're about to pop the channel. I can't. No, Nanny.
Megan (11:20): You don't look in your head.
Matty (11:22): Do you see a walnut in your head? No. Do you see a walnut? No. You can't picture a walnut in your head right now.
Megan (11:29): Yes, I can I can picture a walnut, yeah.
JJ (11:32): I can picture vagina.
Matty (11:34): What about maybe like an elderly vagina? No. No, I've never seen that. Sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I just it's a body part. It's uh I'm trying to be rude. Okay.
[11:48] Nick’s Long Hair Reveal
JJ (11:48): Um, Nick, one thing that I Nick, one thing that I really like about your energy here is like your style. So I'm like, I've been here wondering like what's what's going on with that. I mean, under that bandana.
Nick (12:04): Oh, under here?
JJ (12:05): Yeah. Yeah.
Nick (12:06): I do have like really long hair. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Underneath my bandana.
Megan (12:12): Because you can kind of with the bandana on in this light, it almost looks like you've just got like a short bleach blonde hairdo.
JJ (12:20): Like a really tan scalp.
Megan (12:22): Yeah.
JJ (12:23): Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So was that something that you just one day said, I'm gonna grow my hair?
Nick (12:30): Um, well, I had young hair as a kid growing up, and then I kind of like kept it short through my teenage years. Um and then I started growing it down during the lockdown. Oh, that pandemic. So I've been growing it for like six years now. Oh, how long? So how long is it? Yeah, it's been getting pretty long. see. Yeah, oh yeah. Oh my god, a movie. We love a rubis.
Megan (12:55): Absolutely.
JJ (12:56): Oh, it's luscious. Yes. Oh my gosh. Oh, wow. I love that.
Matty (13:03): Very long.
JJ (13:04): Oh my god, it's so beautiful.
Nick (13:06): Like Fabio. I'm like Fabio, yeah.
JJ (13:10): Oh my god, I love it so much. Thank you.
Matty (13:12): Yeah, it does look very much.
JJ (13:13): Does it take a lot if you could keep it like healthy and uh um yeah, it's I love it.
Nick (13:18): Not too crazy, but I keep it tied up a lot so it doesn't, it's not too much maintenance.
JJ (13:23): Yeah. No, I like it. Oh my god.
Matty (13:26): Would you ever it's a vibe for sure? Um yeah again, it's in now. Did you know? Like GQ is saying it's in.
Nick (13:33): I do definitely see, I feel like I've I feel like since the pandemic I've noticed more um guys with longer hair. Longer hair.
JJ (13:42): Yeah, and I've seen it in TikTok a lot. Like guys in this now are the ones telling, oh, this is how I keep up with my hair. And my I love a guy with a little set of lush curls.
Matty (13:57): Yeah.
JJ (13:58): So I mean, I don't have the luxury that Nick has. Um, like my hair is no longer with us. Um, but I RIP R. During the pandemic, instead of growing my hair, I got into getting a wig. And we would just buy a wig. We had like happy hours, remember, Matty?
Matty (14:19): I mean, it was the little thing.
JJ (14:20): It was the little thing. So and and Matty knows, like once I put him that wig, it's just uh a new persona will come out.
Nick (14:27): Yeah, 100%. It does the long hair, like does something to sometimes like home alone, get out of the shower, put the music on, and I'm just gonna. Oh my god!
Matty (14:36): Flip flip your hair back and forth. If you ever cut it, would you donate it to locks of love?
Nick (14:41): I think yeah, that'd be that'd be a really good thing.
Matty (14:43): I think that's such a cute agency.
JJ (14:46): Locks of love.
Matty (14:47): Locks of Love. Locks of love. Yeah. I mean, if you're gonna if somebody, guy or girl, has long hair and cuts it, you might as well donate it because it's it helps typically make wigs for young young cancer patients and stuff. So out of real human hair. So that's and the kids, you know, so it's sweet.
JJ (15:08): Oh, yeah.
Matty (15:10): And it's sad, but sweet.
JJ (15:11): But yeah, it's sad, but it's like something that is like beautiful, and especially for like young kids, yeah.
Megan (15:16): Nick, let me ask you when you are after you've washed your hair, do you blow it dry or let it air dry?
Nick (15:24): I actually have like a special hair towel that I use. I don't blow dry my hair at all.
Megan (15:31): Okay.
Nick (15:31): Um I don't use like heat on it or anything like that. So no like curling, straightening, no blow dryer. I just put it up in my little hair towel. Like half the times I fall asleep with it. Yeah. But yeah, that's it.
Matty (15:45): Okay, I love it. What makes a hair towel a hair towel?
Nick (15:49): Um, I don't use it on any other part of my body. Oh, so it's okay, but it's it's smaller too.
Matty (15:55): Yeah, is it like are you searching on Amazon, for example? I don't know where you bought it, but like hair towel, or is it just a towel you've bought and you're just like I'm making a decision just to make it for my hair? It was sold specifically marketed as a hair towel. Okay.
Megan (16:11): They exist. Supposedly they're more absorbent or something like that.
Matty (16:14): I've never like wrap it around and put it on your own. You do. Oh my god. My grandma used to do that. So yeah, that's I can picture that. Yeah. I can picture it.
[16:25] Hair Trends: Bobs, Lobs, Shullets & Skullets
Megan (16:30): out. So apparently the new long layer expensive look is back, which is like for men or for women. Or I think for both. I think this these are just hair trends. I don't think they're necessarily exclusive to women, but women typically have longer hair. So I think maybe that lends it to it. But um the long layer look, which is like long layers with face framing pieces, but your hair still moves. And if you haven't heard or seen on all the celebrity women out there, Bobs are back.
JJ (17:04): The Bobs are back. Yeah. Yep, they're back. Brunway, Bronwit, Bronwin?
Megan (17:08): Bronwyn.
JJ (17:09): From the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. She was actually this week trying to get a very good cut like Bob, and there uh she wanted to go in like full floors with that.
Megan (17:20): And what I didn't know is there's all these new versions of Bob's. There's an Italian Bob, which is a fuller, more slightly rounded bob, a French Bob, which is also shorter and more undone. The box bob, which is yeah, B-O-X, which is blunt and geometric, so very like structural. The lob, which is, I've always been a fan of the lob. The lob is like a long bob, basically.
JJ (17:49): If it's a long bob, is it a bob, really?
Megan (17:51): It's a lob. A lob. Or a bixie, which is a bob combo pixie cut. And I'm not really quite sure how to envision that.
JJ (18:03): Probably Chris Jenner had one of those pixies at that point.
Megan (18:07): She's got more of a bixie, yeah.
JJ (18:08): Yeah.
Megan (18:09): And the thing I'm really curious about is a new trend that you probably should look for is the shullet.
Matty (18:17): And the shullet is These are like dog breeds.
Megan (18:20): A shag, a mullet plus layers.
Matty (18:23): Oh, the mullet.
Megan (18:24): So you get the coolness you want of a mullet, but it you won't look like you're like from the 80s.
Matty (18:30): It'll be a shullet. There's a skulllet, too.
Nick (18:35): Love a skulllet.
Matty (18:36): You do? Yeah.
Nick (18:37): Tell our listeners what a skulllet is. A skulllet, you shave the whole front of your head down to the scalp, and then the back is just luscious like you.
Matty (18:51): I've got clippers.
Nick (18:53): Oh no.
Matty (18:55): We could clip it up.
Nick (18:57): I could not do a skull on myself, but I have have you seen it? Um, only online.
JJ (19:02): Okay.
Nick (19:02): But I love when people You haven't seen one in the wild. No, you haven't seen one in the wild. No, God. But I appreciate the boldness to try something that wild. I think a skulllet.
Matty (19:13): If you don't like it, you're fucked.
JJ (19:15): Yeah, it's 100. Well, you would just really just wrap it up. Yeah.
Megan (19:20): It's gonna be an awkward growing.
JJ (19:22): Like it's like business in the front, party in the back. No?
Matty (19:27): Well, not a great party.
JJ (19:30): I feel like a skulllet it reminds me like a Game of Thrones. Like people think that they do kind of long here and there. Like, or maybe like more of a Viking will do a skull.
Matty (19:44): Yeah.
JJ (19:44): Because if they have the little helmet, it's perfect. They have the hair out, and the helmet doesn't, you know, go in with the with the hair.
Matty (19:54): Yeah. Well, I'm still out. I have some hair gone wild. There's some hair gone wild. Like, can we get into like some hairy topics? Yeah. Sure. So this is not hairy. I'm gonna put a disclaimer out there and like run it across the bottom of the screen. This is not Nick in any way, shape, or form. Nick, our special guest, is just InSpo. He was part of the pre-production for topics about hair gone wild.
Megan (20:24): Megan, kick us off with a little bit of one that, yeah, that's out there called the Rapunzel syndrome. And at first I thought, oh, this is just like girls who want to have a long, beautiful hair, maybe have it braided. No.
[20:29] Rapunzel Syndrome
Matty (20:39): Is that the one with the guy climbed up her hair? Yes. Yes. Yeah.
JJ (20:44): The Rapunzel live action movies coming up.
Megan (20:47): Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, it's basically trichophagia, which is eating your hair.
JJ (20:55): And at first I thought, like, I think I've seen that in TLC, like uh The Strange Addiction. Have you seen that show?
Matty (21:01): That's a good show. It is. I don't know if I can trust it after that one girl was doing her dabs, remember? Uh vagina.
Megan (21:09): And then it was all made up.
Matty (21:10): Yeah. JJ. Did you watch that episode? Comes out later. She was lying. But anyway, sorry. Yeah, it's true.
JJ (21:19): Yeah. Rapunzel. Rapunzel. Playing with her walnuts.
Megan (21:22): Well, anyway. I can't. Rapunzel syndrome is a rare condition which is associated with trichophagia, which is where someone compulsively eats their own hair after pulling it out.
JJ (21:40): Like a cat.
Megan (21:41): Yeah. Well. So your hair can't be digested. And so what happens is it accumulates in a person's stomach. And it's called, when it accumulates in your stomach, it's called a trichobezoar.
JJ (21:54): It's a hair ball.
Megan (21:55): And what happens is these sometimes it creates a mass. And it extends from your stomach into your small intestine, which is where Rapunzel comes from. It's disgusting and gross. So it comes Rapunzel because it creates this chain of hair inside your body. From your stomach into your intestine and it keeps winding down.
JJ (22:18): I cannot only imagine.
Megan (22:20): So I think I don't have that. So do you have urge?
Matty (22:23): No. Have you ever had an urge, either of you, with hair? Definitely not. I've seen Megan smelling her hair.
Megan (22:30): Well, because my hair like soaks in the smells around me. So if I go into a particularly smelly restaurant. Yeah.
JJ (22:38): Sniff test.
Megan (22:40): Yeah, see? It's common.
JJ (22:41): A sniff test. I've seen that.
Megan (22:43): Yeah. I think I've seen little girls sometimes with long hair will like chew on it a little bit, but I've never seen anyone physically like eating.
Nick (22:51): Pulling it out too is like.
Megan (22:53): Yeah, that's what yeah.
Matty (22:55): I feel like that in and of itself, there is a I got you on the mic. There is this where they don't eat it, but they people have a pulling out.
Megan (23:04): Yeah, pulling out eyebrows.
JJ (23:08): I used to, I mean, when I was starting to bold, oh I used to just like start like pick them out cooling sometimes. Yeah.
Megan (23:16): Really? Really? Why? You wanted to accept get it going faster?
JJ (23:20): No. No. But I think it was just like my self-conscious, like trying to get into it, and I would just like pull it.
Megan (23:28): Wow.
Matty (23:29): Did you have to see somebody about it to stop with a compulsive behavior?
JJ (23:33): Maybe. It was discussed in therapy at some point. That's good.
Matty (23:37): I like to twirl sometimes.
JJ (23:39): Oh really?
Matty (23:40): I like to twirl it, yeah. Trichophilia. Trickle must mean hair in Latin. German.
[23:42] Hair Fetishes and Trichophilia
JJ (23:46): Trickle, probably hair in Latin.
Matty (23:48): Latin. I never said Latin. You said German. That's my second. If it's not Latin, I go German.
Megan (23:57): I don't think German is their words, are they aren't basis for anything.
JJ (24:04): Correct.
Megan (24:04): Okay.
JJ (24:05): I was gonna say it's like it's usually Latin.
Matty (24:08): Yeah. So this is a sexual, sexual attraction to hair. Ooh.
JJ (24:13): Like if you see like a good um set of hair, uh like I was talking about it in last episode with Miguel with the blondes and the brunettes type of thing.
Matty (24:23): Okay, I'm gonna I think it's this to answer your question. I think there's a difference between seeing somebody and you are into blondes or brunettes or bobs or long hairs or whatever that is. This is more of like, I'm actually turned on by like the texture of the hair, the touching of it. There is some color and length to it, like, but uh from an obsession standpoint, and my the weirdest part of it is some people that say they have trichophilia, it's because they get turned on by actually watching somebody get their hair cut.
Megan (24:57): Oh, weird.
JJ (24:59): I've seen some porn of like you go to a barber.
Matty (25:04): Really?
JJ (25:04): Yeah, and then you when you get the cape, you know, is that a cape? Like the cover thing, nothing underneath it. And so you see a little 10 coming up.
Megan (25:13): Oh, yeah.
Matty (25:13): So wait a minute. So a little 10.
Megan (25:17): I've seen that. I've not seen that.
JJ (25:20): And it's not role play, they actually have the barber.
Megan (25:22): So are you so you're saying it's a reality?
JJ (25:25): No, it's like I usually go with like an amateur porn.
Matty (25:28): Do you search barbershop porn?
JJ (25:31): No, it just comes up.
Matty (25:33): That's it. Yeah, I've never had barbershop porn just pop up. Have you missed it?
Nick (25:39): No, not that I can recall.
JJ (25:40): Is this it'll come now because the phone is always listening.
Matty (25:45): Are you interested? What do you are you trichophilia? No, adjacent? Adjacent?
JJ (25:50): No, but I just I do like a no, I don't like a role play, uh, like a product, like a production of a scenario. I'd like an amateur type of moment. And maybe that's what comes up.
Megan (26:02): And are these men doing the barbers?
JJ (26:04): We're talking about hair, no? What? I think they're probably. I mean, there's a they are barbers, yeah.
Megan (26:10): And men, men and men.
JJ (26:12): Men, men and men, yeah.
Matty (26:13): Oh, we did discover Nick last episode, or was that off-air? I don't know. When you said you like female porn.
JJ (26:21): Oh, this is like a long time ago. Yeah. I when you say female porn, it's just straight porn.
Megan (26:27): Right.
JJ (26:27): Right? I don't watch a female and female.
Matty (26:30): No scissors. No scissors, no scissors, scissors. JJ, I think you have um a phobia about it.
[26:34] Fear of Hair
JJ (26:37): Yeah. It's the opposite of being sexually attracted to hair. It's people that have fear of hair. Have you heard about it? I mean, I it's another trick. I don't know if it's a phobia. I do know that I it triggers me if I see hair on the drain on the shower. That's triggerful.
Matty (26:56): I mean, like, are you panic?
JJ (26:58): I'm not panicking, so that's it's not a phobia. Uh to that.
Matty (27:02): You should be panicked if it's in your house because you don't have any, and if there's hair in there, you've got a problem, girl. You endanger girl. You endanger girl.
Megan (27:10): You've got a frogger.
Matty (27:12): Oh, a frog. Oh my god, yeah. Can you imagine? That's a good like that would be a good plot to a show. Like a person that a male bald man finds hair in his drain.
JJ (27:24): Yeah. What? But this, but this, that, but this hair phobia, this hair phobia is not just about like the drain. It's like, do you know that sometimes, you know, if you have a dog that has like it's it's shadow, and you probably has like a sweater or a a top that you know you can't. I mean, it's not that it's not clean, it's just like your dog is there, so that person can actually have fear of even approaching you because of the hair on you. Wow, that's so it's about the clothing, even scenery and furniture if your hair is there.
Matty (27:57): Let me ask you this.
JJ (27:58): I've I'm not the one with the phobia.
Matty (28:00): No, I'm not asking that. But have you all had an experience dining out and you've ate something and you're like, and you've pulled out?
Megan (28:10): Unfortunately.
JJ (28:10): Oh have you? Oh, yes. I don't think oh my god. I now that you're saying that, yes.
Megan (28:15): That is it's people have it. I mean, it just happens. Makes me want to throw it. It's gross.
JJ (28:20): I have a story now that you said that. There was um we used to have a restaurant around here, Rosie O'Grady's, R.I.P.
Matty (28:28): R.I.P.
JJ (28:28): is we miss it so much. Have you you remember Rosie's Inferno?
Matty (28:34): I love people are not can't see. If you're watching video, every all our R.I.P.s. We've gotten the prayer palms from Nick, but it doesn't translate on the Spotify. So check us out on you.
JJ (28:46): Yeah, 100%. So I there was one time that we were all there, and I usually like a hot dog. They really they used to have a good hot dog. I ordered one, and mine had a little piece of hair coming out.
Matty (29:01): Oh, the dog that you saw? Yes, 100%.
JJ (29:05): But listen to this: that's not just like the end of the story. I told the waitress there is a hair on my dog. So can we please have it replaced? She went to the kitchen and came back. I don't know, Matt, if you remember this. She said, We checked on everybody on the kitchen. Nobody has this hair color.
Nick (29:27): I'm calling you a liar.
JJ (29:28): Yeah.
Nick (29:29): Wow.
Megan (29:31): So I was thinking it was like that you would say that it was because the hot dogs are manufactured, so that it came from the manufacturer.
JJ (29:37): It was coming, it was actually on the like on the hot dog bar. Oh wow. She said we checked everybody.
Matty (29:42): We checked everyone's hair color.
JJ (29:44): Yeah, and it's not the same. It doesn't matter.
Matty (29:46): I don't remember this. Yeah. But I believe it to be true. And so what happened after that? Did you did she just give you the dog back? She got it in the back.
JJ (29:54): She brought the hot dog and she left it on the fresh dog? No. No. That is so 100%. No, I didn't eat it. But I I just she said no. And she's like she was not going to change it. Yeah, but I think that we probably were drinking it. Well, there we go. There we go. But she did say she did say that. 100%.
Megan (30:17): Well, I would have been like, let me speak to your manager. This is insane.
JJ (30:20): Yeah.
Megan (30:20): That you're treating me this way.
JJ (30:22): But I would remember that. Yeah, 100%. But there's people that have the fear of hair not even touching it. But they I'm like, what I'm questioning is like, you have fear of hair, but you have hair on your head, but it's not, it's just them seeing hair everywhere.
Matty (30:37): It's just the weirdest things can trigger people. Like that have these weird phobias. Absolutely. Anyone here have a phobia you want to share? Any phobes? I don't know.
JJ (30:47): I mean I don't know if I mean I have fear of things.
Nick (30:51): Yeah, I feel like none of them are like irrational.
JJ (30:53): Yeah.
Matty (30:54): Exactly. I don't either. Like any what about you have fear of flying? And I think if I have phobia, does that translate to heights? Yeah.
JJ (31:03): I have fear of heights, but I I mean I I don't know if it's a phobia because I still fly.
Matty (31:08): Yeah.
JJ (31:08): I get I wouldn't I wouldn't travel at all.
Matty (31:11): I get it's baby phobia.
JJ (31:12): It's a baby, it's a baby phobia.
Matty (31:14): It's a baby phobe. I get baby phobe. I get a little anxious in tight, closed spaces. I had to have like one of those things where you go into the x-ray and I had to stay in there for like 10 minutes and I was freaking out. I was starting to swear. Oh, really? Yeah. But I I wouldn't I also wouldn't call it to the extent of a phobia.
Megan (31:33): I have that sometimes, and this is why I think I don't like watching below deck. I don't like the small spaces like that they sleep in and live in on those yachts. Yeah. And then you know when all those recently you had all those guys, I can't remember what country, maybe it was India, where they got stuck in the caves. This was like a couple months ago. And then they were showing how they had to get out. And they and I'm like, it like freaked me out to watch it on TV. Yeah. And they had to go also underwater for like so many minutes.
Matty (32:07): For going in there, they shouldn't be going in those caves.
Megan (32:10): Well, it was it wasn't dangerous until it rained.
Matty (32:13): Till it was.
Megan (32:14): Yeah. Well, anyway, I was like, oh my god.
JJ (32:17): You gotta they gotta close faces. Yeah, that's too much.
Megan (32:20): I don't know if I could have made it out.
Matty (32:21): They should check the weather app before they go in there.
Megan (32:24): They did. It was like a blame them.
Matty (32:27): But you play with danger, you find danger. God.
Megan (32:31): They were searching for gold.
JJ (32:34): They were searching for searching for gold.
Matty (32:36): How'd that pan out?
Megan (32:40): they all got out and made it alive. I don't know how they did it. That was just it looked treacherous. I couldn't.
[32:46] Hair Jacking
Matty (32:46): I have one more hair, hairy called hair jacking.
JJ (32:52): I know, but you come in for that. So double intent.
Matty (32:56): You can so there's also this fetish. This is a fetish in which you take the hair, you take hair. I'm gonna assume in most cases people are doing it like with unattached hair. Because otherwise your hair would have to be very long, or you could be leaning over somebody to do it. So you take the hair.
Megan (33:15): I thought that could be it. I no, I think it's a hundred percent attached.
Matty (33:19): Oh, I think yeah, okay. So you what? Go ahead.
Nick (33:23): I just imagine someone like taking their wig off.
Megan (33:26): I know. I'm like, it's attached.
Nick (33:28): I think that would kind of like take the heat out of the moment, right? Yeah.
Matty (33:32): Yeah.
JJ (33:33): Well, anyway, you can you explain what it is first, though?
Matty (33:36): Take your hair and you wrap it around a penis and you use the hair and then you kind of pull it up and down in your hair jacket.
JJ (33:45): I can't.
Matty (33:46): Have you tried this?
JJ (33:47): No. Maybe your partner might be interested on that.
Nick (33:52): I don't know. That might be a little much.
Matty (33:56): It might be.
Megan (33:57): I don't like the idea of my hair getting all gross.
JJ (34:00): Could you imagine smelling it after?
Megan (34:03): I wouldn't smell it after.
JJ (34:05): Nick made me think about something though. Like, what about if Nick made me think about something? What about if like a drag queen at the end of the night finds a little moment of love and that person's like, take your wig off, rub it around, do it for us.
Megan (34:20): I don't know. I just feel like that doesn't seem very like it seems like the whole thing would be you have long, long hair and you luxuriously do a wrap.
JJ (34:30): Well, I see I see some long hair happening.
Matty (34:33): What if you did it with an abandoned wig? Remember those.
Megan (34:38): That gets it a little uh that gets like dirty road stuff on I don't I wouldn't want that on my skin.
Matty (34:46): Well, we took a trip down the hair lane. The hair lane, yes. But you know what?
Megan (34:54): I feel like I need to go back to ketchup because I forgot to tell you about something with relating to ketchup. So part of this whole thing that also was intriguing about doing this taste test was that Heinz just came out with this new cap for its ketchups that's called the Love Lid. And basically, what it is is a cap that you screw on to the top of your Heinz bottle. So you can it would replace Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's doesn't work.
[35:09] Heinz Love Lid
Matty (35:26): That's a baby cap.
Megan (35:27): It's got to be a Heinz.
Matty (35:28): Oh, because they all have universal lids. They have universal lids, yep.
Megan (35:32): Yes, yes, yes, yes. And anyway, the love cap that you put on has different holes that you twist the side, and it gives you a hole that's called the like. You have a love hole and a crazy love hole.
JJ (35:48): Um tell me when you're done and I'm gonna go for it.
Matty (35:53): Like a like setting, a love setting, if only if only. If only he's like love hole and really love hole, crazy love hole.
Megan (36:03): Well, okay, yeah. So you go because when you turn it, you get a hole to squeeze your ketchup out of.
Matty (36:09): And you get a whole lot.
Megan (36:11): So anyway, I was like, this seems kind of interesting to me, this lid. So I was searching for it. I only could find it at Walmart online. It's a limited edition drop. Basically, they came out and sold out within hours. So I'm kind of irritated at hindsight.
Matty (36:26): I don't think you really explain what the holes do.
Megan (36:28): So, like I said, like laughing crazy life.
Matty (36:32): I know, but like it equates to I please on the hole. I like, you know, a modest amount of ketchup. So your squeeze is therefore then controlled. Like however you squeeze it, you're getting a like amount.
Megan (36:46): Yes.
Matty (36:47): And then if you're like, I like a little bit more ketchup than the average normal amount. Crazy love. That's a correct no, that's love.
JJ (36:55): That's love. Crazy love.
Matty (36:58): You probably have more ketchup than you have fries, for example. Like it's just crazy, crazy, crazy.
Megan (37:03): Well, this is why I wanted to see the cap because I wanted to really investigate these holes. Because the light hole.
JJ (37:10): It's a glory hole.
Megan (37:12): Well, it could be. I'm not a ketchup lover, so it's not glory for me. Well, but I wanted to really see how small is that light pole compared to the love pole.
JJ (37:24): You can't say me. How tight is it? Wow.
Megan (37:27): Well, that's we can't see it because we don't have this level it around.
Matty (37:32): I want this cap.
Megan (37:33): I don't think it's coming back out. I think it was one of those advertising gimmicks. I think they made like 10 and they sold out immediately.
Matty (37:42): They made 10.
Megan (37:43): Well, I'm irritated about it.
Matty (37:44): That seemed, you know, I feel like if there was a huge demand for them, um, yeah, then maybe we should write in. All right, Heinz.
Nick (37:54): If you're watching or listening, come on or Ed Sheeran.
Megan (37:59): Come through. Because you know Ed Sheeran is a huge catch-up lover. No, he's obsessed with ketchup. Come on, Ed, join our he's done deals with Heinz before because he loves ketchup and Heinz so much. Like he's obsessed with is he a crazy hole? Oh, he's a crazy hole. No, he would be a crazy hole. Crazy love.
JJ (38:21): Crazy love hole.
Megan (38:23): He got me all confused with these whole holes. He's crazy love. So, Ed, please come talk to the Heinz people for us. Let's get this new love lid back out. We want it.
JJ (38:38): Yeah, we're gonna go from light to crazy love.
Megan (38:41): Well, and Ed, I would think wants it because he needs that big hole. Well, he likes a lot of ketchup. He says sweating.
Matty (38:56): Sweating. Well, oh, that's whole.
Megan (39:00): Okay, well, let me move on. Yeah, I'm gonna move on from these holes because they're not doing well for us or Ed.
JJ (39:10): What do you got? Okay, yeah.
[39:12] New Food Drops
Megan (39:12): So you know I'm constantly trying to find the new things that are out. I want people to know Taco Bell, they just dropped on August 13th, the Taco Bell Tahine collab. And so we tried it. There's two items the Tajín Cheesy Gordita Crunch and the Tahine Seasoned Crunchy Taco.
JJ (39:33): I love being some Tahine with like watermelon or pineapple. Yeah, that's very good. Or mangoes.
Megan (39:38): Yeah, I'm not the biggest Tahen lover, but I do like a little. I enjoy it. I will say the Tajín Cheesy Gordita Crunch, I would say 10 out of 10. I thought it was excellent. The Tajín Seasoned Crunchy Taco was a little too tangy for me. It's basically a crunchy taco taco shell with Tajín embedded on it. And it almost gave a little of a lemon hint to it.
JJ (40:07): I would say probably lime.
Megan (40:08): Or lime. Oh, you're right.
JJ (40:10): Yeah, it was like more lime because of a I think Mexican food goes in mind a lot.
Matty (40:15): No, I thought it was a Mediterranean. You're thinking tahini.
JJ (40:19): Oh god, Matty. No wonder because they are we're not getting gyros or gyros.
Matty (40:25): Because they're Mexican. Yeah. Correct. I guess it wouldn't be Mediterranean.
Megan (40:30): But you know, brand. Yeah. Well, this is for JJ. He's a chicken and waffle lover.
JJ (40:36): I am.
Megan (40:37): And Chick-fil-A. I know we're not fans, but anyway, they do have a good chicken, and they have come out on August 24th. A chicken and waffles.
Matty (40:47): They haven't come out. They have not come out.
Megan (40:49): Well, they will be. They're coming. Mark your calendars.
Matty (40:51): You're not picking up what I'm laying down. Like coming out.
Megan (40:54): Oh, got it.
Matty (40:54): Yeah. Okay. They're still in the closet.
Megan (40:57): There's a chicken and waffles breakfast sandwich coming out and a chicken and waffles sandwich. They'll be coming out August 24th. And Chick-fil-A, we want you to come out and enjoy the gaze.
Matty (41:08): Yes. I might have to sneak one.
Megan (41:13): Yeah. And okay. This is where things go a little cray. Oreos.
JJ (41:20): They need to stop. They've jumped the shark.
Matty (41:23): Well, did they?
JJ (41:24): Are you an Oreo fan, Nick?
Nick (41:25): I do. I am, yes. Yeah.
Matty (41:28): What about these crazy? Do you just like the classic Oreo? What about these new flavors?
Nick (41:33): Um, I don't mind them. Um I do wish that they would bring back the Selena Gomez Oreo. Oh, those were so good.
Megan (41:42): Those were really good. Yes. We were famous.
JJ (41:44): But listen to these flavors. And tell us what we're in. Yes.
Megan (41:47): August 24th, also. It's a big drop day. Uh Oreos dropping, three new flavors here in America. You can get deep fried, which is somehow like deep fried Oreos became a thing like on the carney circuit.
Matty (42:02): Yeah.
Megan (42:03): And an affair.
Matty (42:04): I don't know how that'll translate to like prepackage.
Megan (42:08): They said they've somehow added this fried layer to it that gives you that deep fried taste.
Nick (42:13): That sounds gross.
Megan (42:14): And chicken and waffles again. They're coming out with a chicken and waffles Oreo.
Matty (42:20): You need to stop.
Megan (42:21): Well, I'm kind of curious.
Matty (42:23): There's a collab coming out.
Megan (42:24): Another one, banana pudding.
Matty (42:26): Oh, that might be good.
Megan (42:28): Wait, I've got one. You have one, but that's only available in Japan.
Matty (42:32): Oh.
Megan (42:33): So our Japanese.
Matty (42:40): Oreo. Oreo.
Megan (42:41): Oreo. Yes. That sounds correct.
JJ (42:44): Savory Oreo? No. So you go back to the Orchata Sarina Gomez.
Megan (42:50): But I also wonder, because it's interesting that KFC and Oreo have this collab in Japan. I question and wonder are the chicken and waffle Oreos that we're getting here in America the same?
Matty (43:04): I'm surprised. Would love to know.
Megan (43:07): Japanese slippers, please send us some of those KFC Oreos.
Matty (43:11): I didn't even know Japanese had or Japan had KFCs. Oh, yes.
Megan (43:16): Well, I haven't been to Japan, but I've been to Hong Kong and they had KFC and I ate them many times. That's a different I know, but it was still Asia. So I'm assuming they might have the same fast food restaurants in the different Asian countries. And let me tell you, KFC, you have this amazing mushroom rice dish in Hong Kong that I'd love to see come to America. Okay. So good. All right. One last drop that people need to know about. Well, this one is close to our hearts. It's Domino's coming August 31st. Domino's is a Detroit based company.
Matty (43:54): Yeah.
Megan (43:54): And coming August 31st, they're coming out with their first ever Detroit style pizza. Called the Domino. I know.
Matty (44:06): I don't usually eat Domino's. But I'm I'll try it.
Megan (44:10): And I don't usually eat Detroit style pizza.
Matty (44:13): You don't.
Megan (44:13): No, it's just I don't, I like a lot of sauce on my pizza and Detroit style.
Matty (44:19): Crazy love?
Megan (44:20): Um, no, but probably I'm in the love.
JJ (44:25): Just to love.
Megan (44:26): Love board or crazy love. Because some pizzas do very little sauce. And so some once I've had a pizza at a place, if they don't have enough sauce, I do extra sauce.
Matty (44:38): Is sauce a particular associated with a particular region? Like, you know, they have Chicago style, Detroit style Chicago style is a little bit more sauce forward, I think.
Megan (44:48): Yeah, then Detroit. Detroit is just the drizzle like on the top of the pizza.
JJ (44:54): And it's like a square. It's square. It's square.
Megan (44:56): It's made with brick cheese. Yeah. And the sauce is on top and it's kind of just striped on top.
JJ (45:02): Yeah.
Megan (45:02): I like my sauce on all the pizza.
JJ (45:05): Yeah.
Megan (45:05): So anyway.
Matty (45:06): I like my sauce spread.
Megan (45:07): Check out Domino's.
Matty (45:09): Maybe Ed can help you.
Megan (45:11): Ed is not a Domino's lover.
Matty (45:14): Oh no.
JJ (45:14): He is known as a fine touchable lover. Focus on one task. Let's just finish up with the drops.
Megan (45:20): So the drops are done. That was it. I ended with our Detroit drop August 31st.
[45:25] Slip It Ins and Pull It Outs
Matty (45:25): Let's drop some slips and pulls.
JJ (45:27): Yeah, and Nick is this is your turn. You just have some Slip It Ins and Pull It Out.
Megan (45:32): Tell them how it works, Megan.
JJ (45:35): out?
Megan (45:35): Slip It Ins are things you're loving, vibing with right now, and Pull It Outs. Are those things that are annoying you that you hate or that are especially bothersome to you?
Nick (45:46): Nothing's off limits. Yeah. Okay, so I actually had like a music-related slip. Oh, wow. Pull It Out. Oh, I love that. Okay, I'm in. Um, so my Slip It In for this episode is uh Troye Sivan's new music video. Yeah. It's so good. I heard it. It's such a good song. It's called She's the Best.
[45:56] Troye Sivan and AI in Music
JJ (46:07): Um I like Troye, that is, he's very provocative, type of on his like music. So I love that.
Nick (46:14): Um it's a really cute song about like important women in your life and how great women are sisters, aunts, mothers, friends, things like that.
Matty (46:23): Special friends like me can say. Yes. I hear you're a special friend. No, I'm not.
Nick (46:31): Um, but Troye is in drag again in the music video, like he was in that video a few years ago. He looks very good. Um Nicole Kidman stars. Oh, she is?
Megan (46:40): Oh, that she this is I saw the headline that she was in this new video that was very sexual, but I didn't know it was his. Okay.
Nick (46:47): 59 years old, and she's gorgeous. Siren. Yeah. Siren.
Matty (46:53): Heartbreak. Can happen in a place like this. Yeah. Something like that for AMC.
Nick (47:00): And my Pull It Out for this week is going to be um the use of AI in music. Um I don't know if you guys saw uh Tyga released this album not too long ago.
JJ (47:13): And she used AI.
Nick (47:14): He was in a little controversy because he admitted that he used AI in the video, um, and he received a 0.0 star on Pitchfork because of it.
Megan (47:27): Wow.
Nick (47:28): Um what's Pitchfork? It's a popular uh album review review type of game. And so he came online to defend himself and said that you know he wrote all the lyrics, everything is his voice. Um, he spent a lot of time on it, but he did use AI for instrumentals.
Megan (47:46): All the instrumentals where wow, so he's not even using real musicians. That's crazy.
Matty (47:52): I can see where the backlash would come. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, you've got real talented people that can play instruments, and instead you choose AI.
Megan (48:00): And you're you're a musician yourself, and you're kind of cutting out your fellow musicians.
Matty (48:06): Collaborators.
Nick (48:07): Yeah, yeah.
Matty (48:07): Yeah.
Megan (48:08): That's a good Pull It Out.
Matty (48:10): It's an interesting topic. It'll see it'll we'll see how that all fits out.
Megan (48:14): Absolutely.
JJ (48:15): Yeah. Well, I Slip It In. Go ahead. If I if I may.
Megan (48:18): Yeah, go ahead.
JJ (48:19): It is this jersey that I have on today. Not just because of the jersey. This is like coming from the world club where um Spain actually won. I love that this year.
[48:22] JJ’s Depop Jersey
Matty (48:29): Um, I think you gotta show a little more of it for there. You go. Yeah.
JJ (48:35): Adidas uh is the brand from this um jersey. It was hard to get this jersey, especially as they were going further and further and further on the Workup. But Matty has talked about Depop, and I found this and Depop. Usually, this jersey goes by $130. I made an offer, and for $40, the jersey. So I was like very excited and I wanted to show off my little Spanish jersey. I love the colors, I love the design. It's like yeah, it's like become one of my favorites.
Matty (49:12): Also, it's your very first Depop purchase.
JJ (49:15): It is my first Depop purchase.
Matty (49:16): So it's one that'll stick with you. I always remember my first Depop.
JJ (49:20): Oh my god. Yeah. Yeah, that is going to be my slipper in for sure.
[49:26] Creature Feature: Octopus Encounter
Creature Feature Voiceover (49:26): Woof! It's time for Creature Feature.
JJ (49:31): Well, that is my bullet out. I don't know if you've saw the news.
Matty (49:34): Oh my god, I love it.
JJ (49:36): Um, of this um fishing man in Port uh Puerto Princesa and um Palawan. His name is Clarence J with the octopus on his face. Yes, it made the news. Did you see that?
Nick (49:51): I thought it was AI at first. I didn't know. Me too. I actually go immediately into the comments and people started putting it in.
JJ (49:56): It's like, oh, is this AI? Yeah. But it failed. Like, if I were to be that person, I don't know. I would just go into a panic attack.
Matty (50:05): I think I would have died. Yeah. I think I would have succumbed to the puss because it's just I mean, it was real. First of all, ABC News covered it. Yeah, I saw it on the Today Show. So anyone that thinks it's AI, it's not. But like it was close to being over the breathing part.
Nick (50:22): Yeah, there was a moment that you could like could have suffocated him or something. Yeah.
Matty (50:27): I think I would have just gone into paralyzation mode, like, oh my god, I'm here.
JJ (50:33): Yeah, I was just like, nah. Oh that moment of like, I'm like, oh, panic attack. Like it means like close. You were talking about like close compartment places. Like, I can even imagine not even maybe just a lot of things.
Megan (50:44): Octopus on your face.
JJ (50:45): Yeah. It's gross. It's fishy on my face. Oh no. Yeah. Not happening. That was it's a Creature Feature, but also not pulled out.
Megan (50:52): I love it.
Matty (50:52): Yeah. I love it. Pull It Out. Like literally. Did you see? Like he's like literally trying to and then he starts banging it with that.
JJ (51:00): It's not like that because octopus are like very smart creatures. And I'm sure that the octopus, I was like, listen, get me out of here.
Megan (51:09): Yeah, he was.
Matty (51:09): He was well, I mean, I get it. I don't want to beat a puss over the face either, but like if it suck in my face, yeah. Yeah, ow. I'm gonna I'm gonna club it. Yeah.
Megan (51:19): All right. Well, my Slip It In is I just was reminiscing with a Mr. Good Bar.
Matty (51:28): Shut up. Have you had a Mr. Good Bar recently? No, but I mean, I don't think I've ever had little miniatures, so that's usually when people bring them into the office. I'll take a miniature.
[51:30] Mr. Goodbar and Taco Bell Pickup
Megan (51:39): And that's where I had it.
Matty (51:40): It's a candy bar.
Megan (51:41): Yeah, it's uh the yellow one. It's a Hershey's candy bar, but with peanuts in it. And honestly, it's really good.
Matty (51:48): Yeah.
Megan (51:49): And it's a reminiscent.
Matty (51:51): Where were you guys catching up?
Megan (51:53): Someone had brought uh one of those mix into work that like See, that's how I'm getting to them. Yeah. And I'm like, God, these Mr. Good bars are so good. I don't like a crackle. I don't like a crackle. The other ones, I only like the Mr. Goodbars.
Matty (52:06): I'm out on the special darks. Oh.
Megan (52:08): Yeah. So and my Pull It Out is anytime I've done a Taco Bell order from the app or online, then I make it at my house. I leave, go pick it up. I want it to be ready to go. It's not ready. They don't make it till you arrive. And that's kind of my annoyance. Like I want it ready to be picked up. I don't want to have to wait to have it made.
JJ (52:29): I agree with you. I also, when it comes to Mexican food that I order online, especially with the tortillas, the the the sooner I can get the fresher, the better. Because it can get very soggy with the letters, and we know we don't want to mess around with the letters lately. So I I get your point. You want you don't want to wait anymore. That's the reason why you're ordering online. But also when it comes to my tortillas and Mexican food, I don't want to soggy.
Megan (53:03): Well, I agree, but I'm not arriving 30 minutes after I'm arriving.
Matty (53:10): in their mind, like, lady, we're fast food for a reason. You come in, we give it to you quick. You don't need to, I don't know.
Nick (53:15): It could be quicker though.
Megan (53:17): Yeah.
Matty (53:17): Exactly.
Megan (53:18): Exactly.
[53:19] Matty’s Ponytail Obsession
Matty (53:19): My Slip It In has this Slip It In. I keep a list of things that I possibly could bring. This is like number two on my list, so it's been hanging around for a very long time.
JJ (53:29): For 65 episodes.
Matty (53:30): And yes, and here we are. I'm using it today because we got into the hair. I am obsessed with a ponytail.
JJ (53:39): I love a pony on a women and a woman.
Matty (53:42): On a woman. Oh, anyway. I do. Well, you know what I like about it is the actual like pop-up in the back.
Nick (53:50): Like when I get Ariana Grande.
Matty (53:52): Yeah. Yeah. Or I'm even more obsessed with a girl that wears a baseball hat and has a pony coming out of the back. I don't like those hats. You do that? I love it so much. I think it's so cute. It feels all American to me. It's just, I just love a good pony. I didn't know.
Megan (54:08): Like I'll start sporting that around you.
Matty (54:10): Oh, can you pony it?
Megan (54:11): Yeah, I'll pony it. Do you like a side pony?
Matty (54:14): I'll take a side pony, but I prefer to be. Do you like a side pony?
Megan (54:18): No, no, no, no. I'm not a side pony.
Matty (54:20): No. No side pony? I mean, I'll I'd like to see you in it on the pod.
Megan (54:25): Maybe I'll I'll rock a side phone sometime.
Matty (54:28): I doubt it. I doubt it. You're very petick. Okay, Mike, Pull It Out, and we might be short on time for this because I think this could be a little divisive. But uh earlier we were talking about charity of locks of love, and I'm a I'm a charitable person, and I have a lot of um different charities I support based on things that are important to me. And one of the things I would like to do is donate blood. And I heard on the news earlier this week that there we're in a blood shortage emergency crisis, is what they called it. I feel like I know I did some research, I understand the policies have changed in writing, but overall they make it very difficult
[54:50] Blood Donation Eligibility
Matty (55:11): if you're a gay man to actually donate blood. It's there's these questions you have to fill out, and as a gay man, yeah, you're welcome. We take blood for everyone, but from a gay man's perspective, you have to not have had um sexual intercourse with another man in the last three months or a year, it's you can't you have to go off prep.
Megan (55:38): No, it's anal sex for three months, and it applies to straights and gays. It was straight, it's anyone, anyone who's had anal sex within the last three months cannot donate blood.
Matty (55:51): And prep, which is primarily taken by the gay male community, although they have it for females as well, and straight men, but you can't be on that for a period of like a year. Well, okay, so you if that's and you also cannot have one you I mean, of course you could lie, but like you can't have more than one sexual partner in the last. I'm like, okay, but I'm like, find me this gay.
Megan (56:16): Well, the sexual partner also applies to straights.
Matty (56:21): I know, but you know, I think you agree though at the end of the day, no, I agree. They're saying it applies to everybody, but like when you read these things that you're checking out, it's like, well, okay, you're looking for a way to like get us out. And I'm here like take my blood. Yeah, I've got great blood. Yeah, I have it's not tainted, but let's say I don't like if it is, I and I don't know it. I mean, you've got technology to scan, like yeah, they always test it anyway. So I don't just take it, run it through the the test, and if it's got something, it like don't use it and then inform the person, and then you're doing a service to people and you're
Matty (57:01): not like automatically cutting them up and shutting the door.
JJ (57:05): I mean, I think that the only ones off the hooks are the ones that prefer to be a side.
Matty (57:10): Well, even sides stuff slips in.
Megan (57:13): It doesn't matter because you'll answer the question, so you're still gonna get disqualified.
Matty (57:19): I don't even think on that form there's a side option. I don't doubt it.
JJ (57:24): Check that next year.
Megan (57:26): Well, I agree. Hopefully, it changes soon. Obviously, with the prep, you would think anyone on prep, it should mean you can donate.
Matty (57:33): Yeah, but you would think, yeah, and then the fact that it has to go off of it for a year, like I think that's just because it's a new medicine in your system. Like, yeah, exactly.
JJ (57:43): And I do think that this is uh one of those topics that we can continue to unfold. And like as a um, you know, we are advocates for our LGBTQ plus community, and we're gonna continue to advocate into that and bring some light and joy as much as we can and um try to fight what's what's right.
Matty (58:05): There you go. Absolutely well said, JJ. Well said.
